Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 A horde of Muppets and kids (including Big Bird, Herry, Rosita, Telly, Ernie, Baby Bear, Zoe, Grover, Honkers, Roxie Marie, Prairie Dawn, Merry Monster, Elmo, Buster, Carlo, and Nathan) are making their way around the corner, as today is the day they open the new playground in the park! Everyone is excited to go and they try to invite Bob and Linda to come along, but they both have to get to work. Likewise, Gordon and Susan have jobs to get to, but their son Miles is free and joins the group. Savion passes by and has to turn down the invitation to go as he's got to get to school. Betty Lou and Tarah, however, decide to see the new playground as well, even if Gina can't make it since she has to work at Hooper's Store. Gabi also follows the group, while her parents Maria and Luis have to open the Fix-It Shop. Elmo observes how everybody but the grown-ups are willing to head around the corner with them.

SCENE 1, cont'd Chanting "Around the corner to the new playground!" as more kids join Tarah and Betty Lou, the large group turns the corner from 123 Sesame Street and Big Bird's nest and continue down the street. They stop at 456 Sesame Street to see if Angela and Jamal can join them, but they're both taking Kayla to the pediatrician. Next door at the Furry Arms Hotel, Big Bird asks bellhop Benny Rabbit to come with them, but Benny is too busy working... though he eventually gives in and says he'll check it out later. Humphrey and Ingrid wish they could take their daughter Natasha to the playground, but they also must stay at the hotel to make sure the guests stay happy; their employer Miss Netherland briefly pokes her head out of one of the windows to check up on the two. Next, the group pops by thrift store Finders Keepers, where storekeeper Ruthie is busy sorting out a new shipment of elf and fairy shoes. Celina rollerblades by and has to give a dance class soon at her dance studio above the store.

SCENE 1, cont'd Instead of finding a playground, the Muppets and kids arrive at the park's entrance to find a wooden barrier marked with the word "DANGER" all over it. Biff says that the final touches are still being done on the playground and the group will have to wait somewhere else. As the group stands anxiously next to Finders Keepers, Roxie Marie expresses surprise that her uncle Biff never mentioned he was working on the playground. "Who said anything about buildin' a playground?" Biff says admirably. "Your uncle Biff built the wall!"

SCENE 3 Big Bird doubts that the playground will ever open, so he visits Ruthie in Finders Keepers to keep himself busy. Ruthie slides down her fireman's pole and introduces him to Little Green Riding Hood, who is angry about her sister's fame. She wants to appear on talk shows and the news, so she intends to deliver a large basket of goodies to the President of the United States. Ruthie notes how her plan is flawed as she can't just walk into the White House; she has to make an appointment to see him, and by that time all the food in her basket will spoil. Ruthie helps guide a disappointed Little Green into realizing that the crowd waiting outside would greatly appreciate her gesture. Little Green obliges, then begins to contemplate other ways to become famous, like jumping over the moon or a candlestick...

Several kids demand she amend her speech to include children, monsters, birds, "beaws" (Baby Bear's suggestion) and "woims" like Slimey (Roxie's suggestion). Once she cuts the ribbon, everyone is called for supper and can't play, leaving the playground empty. Even the Commissioner's own mommy calls her home for supper!

Meanwhile, Big Bird listens from his nest at the fun everyone is having and is glad that the grown-ups like the playground, too. He settles down to sleep as Luis announces the sponsors, and the season 25 credits follow.
