SCENE 1 | Big Bird tells Luis, Jay, Buffy, and the kids that Maria is taking a chemistry class in school. They watch in awe as she works meticulously at her chemistry set in the yard, combining various liquids. Everyone steps away to help her concentrate, wondering what she could be making. Luis thinks she might be the next Jonas Salk, while Buffy wonders if she can help find a cure for the common cold and expects to see her name on medicine bottles. Maria notes that this is her first chemistry class, but she's ready to test out the concoction she just made. The others are shocked to see that all Maria did was make bubble liquid. "Guys, even Jonas Salk had to start somewhere," Maria wisely notes before everyone joins in the bubble fun. |
