Dr. Joeb (죠브 박사) is a character in Mix Master Online and Mix Master: King of Cards. Dr. Joeb is the eccentric creator of the Mix Master game and scientist. He is known for entering scenes in strange and usually destructive ways. He came up with the Theory of Quantum Eccentricity, and talks about it constantly. Despite his often bizarre behavior, he is a brilliant inventor, originally connecting Atreia and Gamebridge, and creating various vehicles and devices. Unfortunate for him, most of the time said vehicles and devices self-destruct in spectacular ways. Dr. Joeb believes Ditt is the Mix Master, and helps him and his friends out with his inventions, whether they want it or not. Despite his energetic personality, he is 63 years old. [1]
Mix Master Online
Dr. Joeb has a minor role in Mix Master Online, serving as a way to transport between Magirita and the dungeons (if your level is high enough), and as part of the tutorial for new players. In the game, Dr. Joeb's design is slightly different, sporting less loud clothing and a green helmet. His name is sometimes mistranslated as "Dr. Joev" in the English translation.
Mix Master: King of Cards
Dr. Joeb is a supporting character in Mix Master: King of Cards. Dr. Joeb originally gave Ditt and his friends their Card Shufflers and tested them for "gumption" to see who was the true Mix Master. Dr. Joeb, despite his eccentricity, is able to create a robot version of himself[2], a sophisticated security system for Mayor Charles' mansion[3], a blimp[4] and a drilling vehicle for digging through rocks[5]. All of these devices exploded or malfunctioned, however. Dr. Joeb lives in a large laboratory shaped like his face with numerous trap doors and strange gadgets.
In The Doctor Joeb Workout!, it is revealed that Dr. Joeb's grandfather discovered Atreia long before the creation of the Mix Master game, although Dr. Joeb is unsure of Atreia's relationship to the human world. It is also revealed that as a young man, Dr. Joeb believed he was the Mix Master, and got into science to find a way to realize his dreams. Dr. Joeb did not appear in Mix Master: Final Force.

Ditt Lee
Dr. Joeb firmly believes in Ditt, saying that he has "gumption". Ditt, on the other hand, can get annoyed by Dr. Joeb's antics.
Penril
While he does not believe she is the Mix Master, Dr. Joeb still supports Penril, giving her a Card Shuffler of her own in Black Belt Girl. Penril is similarly sometimes annoyed by Dr. Joeb, calling him certifiably insane.
Jin
Dr. Joeb also supports Jin, telling him he needs to become a Mix Master like Ditt to reach his full potential. Jin is probably the least tolerant of Dr. Joeb's antics, going as far as to kick Joeb out of his house when he got on his nerves.[6]
Cheek
Dr. Joeb originally believed Cheek was the Mix Master due to his high knowledge of the Mix Master game, but upon testing him for "gumption", Joeb found out that he doesn't have what it takes to be the Mix Master. Nonetheless, Joeb still supports Cheek, giving him a Card Shuffler using a phony Power Gem in Cheek, Mix Master? Cheek seems to be the most tolerant of Dr. Joeb.
Poy
It appears Poy and Dr. Joeb have a good relationship, as Poy is rarely seen angry at Joeb unlike the others, and they are often seen together.
Trivia
- During the development of King of Cards, Dr. Joeb was a grumpy old man who preferred to work alone in his laboratory instead of the psychotic old man he is today.[7]
- The team has described him as their only mad scientist
