Storyline
Major Nixel presents to King Nixel his newest scheme: to separate the Mixels by using the Cloud Ship to create a Nixelstorm to scatter the Mixels around Planet Mixel, as they are at their weakest when they are separated. The plan works, but the power of the Nixelstorm scatters the storm's control switches around the lands.
Various Mixels escape the Nixelstorm and find the controls, managing to weaken it. The Cloud Ship is caught up with in Infernite Land and the Mixels cause it to crash. Major Nixel repairs the ship as King Nixel announces his impending arrival. Even with King Nixel aboard, the plan fails and the Mixels cause the Cloud Ship to crash again in Glorp Corp Land. Escaping, Major Nixel pleads to King Nixel that the plan will work and that they just need more time, but the king grows angry and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Mixels Rush is a side-scrolling game based around guiding Mixels to the end of a level. In a level, the player begins as a set Mixel being chased by the Nixelstorm, and must strategize in order to escape it and reach the end of the level - marked by a controller for the Nixelstorm. Mixels and items can be found floating in levels, where tapping them will send them to the player's ten-item inventory.
While running, the player must react to hazards, such as differently themed floors and obstacles. Each floor is themed around a different tribe and a corresponding Mixel will run faster along said floor, while a Mixel not of that tribe will slow down. Levels often place two opposing floors next to one another, prompting the player to drag two Mixels together to Mix them and gain the ability to run across both floors with haste. Randomly, two Mixels will Murp, which will trudge slowly along any floor for a brief time. If the player drags together three Mixels of a tribe, they will Max. A Max lasts for a fixed time and runs at top speed across any floor, additionally destroying any obstacles in the way. When a Mixel encounters an obstacle, they will slowly chip away at it, prompting the player to help by tapping the screen. There are two types of obstacles: blockading obstacles and weighted obstacles. Blockading obstacles must be broken by the player and weighted obstacles must have attached balloons inflated to lift away the obstacle.
There are a variety of items that the player collects that will greatly assist in completing a level. Flight boots will speed up a Mixel, while magic wands can be used to teleport a set distance away, phasing through obstacles if any are present. A remote control can be used to remove a single obstacle in front of the player. Magnets will automatically collect all items around the player for a set duration, while a flute will do the same for Mixels. Lastly, there is a paint can item that will cover over a set amount of oncoming floors, and an hourglass that will freeze the Nixelstorm for a set duration.
Each level contains different objectives that are not necessary for completion, but will grant a collectible card when all are achieved. These can range from making a certain amount of Mixes, forming a specific Max or Mix, or using certain items a number of times.
Levels
- Main article: Mixels Rush/Levels
Mixels Rush contains sixty-three levels, seven for each land and nine of which that are only unlocked after completing all objectives in an area. The final levels of each world is different, whereas the player chases the Nixels holding the controller, while the final levels of Infernite Land and Glorp Corp Land are boss fights, where the player chases after the Cloud Ship and must tap on either Major Nixel or King Nixel to deal damage.
Release

Mixels Rush was released on May 21, 2015 on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The app was released for $2.99, though on June 22, 2016, it was made free.[4] The app was advertised with various commercials on Cartoon Network and was promoted at the end of Series 5 and Series 6 LEGO Mixels instruction booklets, containing a code the player can redeem in-game to unlock animated versions of unlockable cards, as well as bonus levels.

Soundtrack
- Main article: Mixels Rush/Soundtrack
The game utilizes a soundtrack composed by Julian De Pietro, featuring fourteen tracks. A segment of the Nixels CD Mix by Kevin Manthei is used for cutscenes. A new version of the Mixels Main Title is used for the game's title screen. Interestingly, each world's theme uses the same basic melody and structure, having the arrangement and instrument usage changed to fit each tribe's theme.
Trivia
- The TV commercial for the game uses footage from Another Nixel, only with Rodger Bumpass dubbing over Major Nixel's lines.[5] Despite this, the stock audio footage in the ad uses Fred Tatasciore's laugh.
- King Nixel makes his second appearance, after Mixel Moon Madness.
- Major Nixel receives a new design in this game, with a new moustache and suit.
- The Nixels still have their old voices from before Mixel Moon Madness.
- The Nixels also use their 2014 designs in gameplay while in the comics, they use their updated designs from A Quest for the Lost Mixamajig and onwards.
- The game allows for any two Mixels to Mix or Murp. This is done by having arms and legs swapped between the Mixel's bodies, while Murps use the model of the Slumbo & Kraw Murp and recolor it to fit the colors of the two Mixels.
- The promotional image for the game depicted in Series 5 instruction booklets appears to depict a prototype or mockup image of the game. For example, the Mix counter has a slightly different design, and there appeared to be a Hamlogna Sandwich item. The level appears to take place in Lixer Land, with some boxes having the Nixel logo. The characters also appear to use their static artwork as opposed to the slightly altered animation models for the game. A stampede of Nixels also appear rather than the Nixelstorm in the game.
- When playing as Nurp-Naut, only Nurp is technically playable, as Naut's face is never shown.
- On September 18, 2015, Cartoon Network UK posted a promotional video of "Scott the Human" playing the game. The video is no longer available.
- The slide Flurr made in Wrong Colors appears from time to time in the background of Frosticon Land levels, despite the Nixels destroying it in the same episode.
- The game's development can be traced back to August 13, 2014, as two of the game's earliest files contain this date.
Errors
- Some of the official artwork of some Mixels are seen having a different poses or having some mistakes.
- The Fang Gang Max's and some of Jinky's Mixes right leg are seen on the same direction as the left one.
- All Infernites members have missing flames.
- Spugg's mane is depicted as yellow instead of yellow and orange, similar to his prototype artwork.
- Kamzo's clamp-like hand is on the wrong side.
- The piece on Chomly's head is brown instead of black while playing a level. However it is black on his card.
- When Nurp blinks, his eyelids are green rather than gray.
- Snoof's feet are shorter than they were in the official artwork.
- The sides of Jinky's head uses the light grey coloration of his static art, rather than the medium grey of his show and toy design.
- The Klinker Land card is missing the words "Klinker Land" on it in the English version of the game.
Glitches

- The game has a high chance of crashing.
- Sometimes, a Mix or Murp will split into a Mixel of a tribe of one of the Mixels in the Mix that was not part of the Mix in the first place.
- Rarely, the game will freeze upon startup.
- Sometimes, the player can have two of the same Mixel in their inventory. This can happen if the player has the Mixel from an earlier level, and then select the same one in a later level. The player can even Mix them, but it simply just puts a bigger version of said Mixel on the screen. If you add a different Mixel from the same tribe onto the Mix with the two identical Mixels (e.g. adding Flamzer to a double Burnard Mix), the game will crash, possibly due to the fact that the game cannot locate the Max combination as it doesn't exist.
- Due to an oversight in the game's programming, completing all objectives on Level 6 of Glorp Corp Land or Level 7 of Weldos Land will softlock the game, immediately crashing and becoming unplayable unless the player resets their game data. This is due to the cards associated with these levels being named incorrectly within the code, and as a result the game is unable to locate them, causing the game to run an endless loop of locating these cards.
- Game textures have a tendency to corrupt, leaving dark squares where descriptors should be.
- The game's main font is not compatible with Japanese, Korean, or Arabic, and no substitute font or coding exists to properly format the text in their places. As a result, some text will be formatted incorrectly or disappear entirely when set to those languages.
