Inherited Perception (うけつがれた感覚, uketsugareta kankaku) is the is the twelfth episode of the MF Ghost anime adaptation, alongside it being the final episode of the anime's first season.

Synopsis

The day before the qualifying round, Mayuko Saionji, the mother of Ren Saionji, by chance notices a certain ability in Kanata. Kanata confesses that this ability, inherited from his late mother, Katherine Rivington, is the skill to accurately memorize images, which he utilizes in his races. Mayuko becomes the only person who understands Kanata, as he has intentionally avoided being known by others. Then, the 6th day of the qualifying rounds, known as the Lake Ashinoko GT, arrives. Watched over by Ogata and Aiba, Kanata starts in his Toyota 86. The question arises: How close can he get to Sawatari's time, who set the course record?

Differences from the Manga

• The scenes at the parking lot that showed Fujin Ishigami's GT3 and Sota Tsukamoto's Evo IX were added into the anime.

Trivia

• During Taylor's qualifying run, the active aero on his 911 Carrera is not animated, compared to the manga.^[4]
• A small spelling error can be found during the overview of the Qualification Session for Day 6, as the word, 'Southwest' is missing the T at the end.^[5]
• Another error can be found at the standings from Day 4, as Takamitsu Kyogoku is not listed on the driver spots, despite him qualifying in Day 1, and making it into the race.^[6]
  • Instead, Emile Hänninen is in 9th despite him not making it into the 2nd round's race.
