Ekrosyys was one of the Bryyo Gods mentioned in notes created by Matt Manchester for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Ultimately, the gods did not appear in the retail version of Corruption, but the story behind them was the basis for the numerous busts in the Imperial Hall room. In Manchester's notes, Ekrosyys is named as the Caretaker of the Dead, and is written as having watched over the souls of the deceased. The bust created to represent Ekrosyys was later repurposed as a sculpture of the empress Hixxn I.
Notes
"Caretaker of the Dead – Ekrosyys: Within the body of the sun itself lives Ekrosyys. It is here where all spirits of fallen children of Bryyo ascend to. He keeps watch over all souls of the deceased, who’s life essence is absorbed into the light of the sun, to lend themselves once again to the never ending cycle of life."
