Autom

Automs are an indestructible defense mechanism that flies around horizontally. This mechanoid activates a flamethrower when Samus comes near. Automs appear as enemies in Metroid II: Return of Samus, found exclusively in Phase 4.

Trivia

While Automs are not included in Metroid: Samus Returns, the redesigned Gunzoo behaves similarly to an Autom.
Without the flamethrower, the artwork of an Autom somewhat resembles Kracko from the Kirby franchise.
