Asif was a 24th century Human man, a command division officer serving in Starfleet in the 2380s decade aboard the USS Cerritos under the command of Captain Carol Freeman.
Biography
In 2380, Asif was assigned to the ship's delta shift. (LD episode: "Terminal Provocations")
Asif participated in a harrowing away mission on the planet Glish in which chroniton emissions hyperaged his leg. (LD episode: "Caves")
In 2381, Asif, Karavitus, and others from their ship crawled through complex crawlways to access a computer interface and get themselves crew quarters on deck 4. They succeeded and ended up sharing one room. (LD episode: "Room for Growth")
He was pleased at contributing to Fletcher's transfer to the USS Titan. Asif and Winger Bingston, Jr. thought about crashing a Vulcan holoprogram of a temple ceremony, but Bingston disappeared. Eventually, Asif found himself trapped on the ship's holodeck along with other ship's personnel by the malevolent artificial intelligence Badgey. Karavitus welcomed him, happy to see another delta shifter. During the lower deckers' effort to earn enough merit points for Badgey to release them, Asif joined Bingston in supervising the Vulcan simulation. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive)
In one of Badgey's drills, Beckett Mariner brought Asif along to face a Gorn in combat at the behest of the Metrons. Asif worried that she chose him because she thought he was a disposable crewmember. When the Gorn arrived, he threw rocks at it, and even dropped a boulder off a cliff like James T. Kirk did in the encounter the drill was based on, but it didn't harm the Gorn. Asif asked her about making a cannon, but Mariner asked if he knew anything about ballistics or how to mix gunpowder. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Arena Rocks")
Later, Mariner convinced Asif to try pizza with pineapple as a topping. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Tendi's Brain")
In another of Badgey's drills, a holographic Gorn, velociraptor, and a Borg drone were programmed to attack anyone in Sherlock Holmes attire. Badgey had clothed the lower deckers in Holmsian outfits as part of the drill. They figured out how they were being tracked and gave their outfits to Asif and Karavitus. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive event: "Elementary")
