Tatebo

Tatebo (ターテーボ, Tātēbo) is a cannon enemy in Mega Man 6 that appears Knight Man's stage, the first stage from Mr. X's Castle and the first two Dr. Wily stages. Tatebo is an improved version of Tatepakkan that shoots at an arc and, once its shield is moved up, shoots straight. It can only be hit when the shield is not in front of it.

Etymology

Its name is a corruption of「盾」(tate, shield) and likely the voicing of「砲」(hō, cannon).

Trivia

• Tatebo makes a cameo appearance in Mega Man 10. Five of them can be seen in the exterior area of Blade Man's stage.
