Galleon

Galleon (ガレオン Gareon) is a recurring enemy from Mega Man ZX series.

Description

Galleons are humanoids with purple armor and dark masks with only a glowing line, closely resembling Variants. They are mass-produced Maverick soldiers of unknown origin. It is not yet known if Galleons are Reploids or Mechaniloids; the English version of Mega Man ZX states that the Lava Demon (a type of Galleon) is a Mechaniloid, while the Japanese version would refer to them as a Reploid. Regardless, Galleons never speak or exhibit thoughts of their own, and only follow the orders of more powerful Mavericks.

In Mega Man ZX, Galleons do not open fire upon the player if they are in their unarmed Humanoid form. Their behavior is noted by a light on their head: if green, the Galleon is docile, though it can still deal contact damage. In Mega Man ZX Advent, Galleons attack the player on sight regardless of their form, due to the fact that Grey and Ashe are armed even in their base forms.

List of Galleons

Galleon Hunter

Galleon Hunter (ガレオン・ハンター Gareon Hanta) is the basic model in the Galleon series, and the most prevalent type of Galleon. It is equipped with an arm buster, and is a true all-rounder suited to complex tasks. Its AI is highly advanced and is programmed to follow orders and complete its mission at any cost.[1][2].

Mega Man ZX only

Galleon Burner

Galleon Burner (ガレオン・バーナー Gareon Bana) is a Galleon equipped with a jet burner on each shoulder. When the fuel runs out, it discards the jet burners and waits to recharge. It is outfitted with special heat shielding, allowing it to withstand extreme temperatures.[3] They appear in Area G, Area O and Slither Inc.'s head office.

Galleon Diver

Galleon Diver (ガレオン・ダイバー Gareon Daiba) is a Galleon that rides an aqua cycle and receives compressed air from a pipe, allowing it to dive deep beneath the surface. If the pipe ruptures, the Galleon will succumb to water pressure and be destroyed.[4] It can be found in Area F and Area J.

Galleon Shroud

Galleon Shroud (ガレオン・シュラウド Gareon Shuraudo) uses a bunker for protection. It opens a hatch to fire its bazooka and fires its buster weapon from a gap in the bunker. If the Galleon inside is destroyed, the bunker is taken down with it.[5] They appear in Area I, Area K and Area M.

Galleon Sledder

Galleon Sledder, known as Galleon Maneuver (ガレオン・マニューバー Gareon Manyuba) in Japan, is a Galleon from Area L and Area O that has received training to handle its special features. They fire a missile launcher from above and a buster from below. There are two jet engines attached to the sled.[6] They reappear separated and without the sled in Mega Man ZX Advent as Galleon Bazooka and Galleon Spider, but the Galleon Bazooka uses homing missiles instead of explosives. The explosives have a resemblance to Protectos in that the blue ones will explode sideways and the red ones upwards, although their explosives are smaller than Protectos' explosives.

Galleon Wing

Galleon Wing (ガレオン・ウィング Gareon Uingu) is a Galleon with a flight unit attached to its back. It can fly freely through the air while using its buster weapon to attack. Its frame is much lighter than a normal Galleon to aid in flight.[7] They can be found in Area I and Area L.

Deluxe Galleon Wing

Deluxe Galleon Wing is a modified Galleon Wing that was introduced in combat on the assault against Guardian HQ as sub-bosses. It has additional offensive functionality not found in the non-deluxe model, such as nitro cans.[8] They reappear in Area O.

Mega Man ZX Advent only

Galleon Assault

Galleon Assault (ガレオン・アサルト Gareon Asaruto) is a close-quarters combat Galleon from Mega Man ZX Advent armed with a large blade on its left arm. They have more endurance and are more aggressive than Galleon Hunters. Their attack range is very wide.[9]

Galleon Bazooka

Galleon Bazooka, known as Galleon Battery (ガレオン・バッテリー Gareon Battari) in Japan, is a Galleon armed with short-range rocket launcher that can also fire heat-seeking missiles. When there are no enemies around, it spends most of its time performing maintenance on its artillery.[10]

Galleon Noggin

Galleon Noggin, known as Galleon Head (ガレオンヘッド Gareon Heddo) in Japan, is a Mechaniloid that was created by suspending the head of a Galleon in special liquid. There are two types of Galleon Noggins that differ in their liquid types.[11] It appears in Bio Lab.

Galleon Rider

Galleon Rider (ガレオン・ライダー Gareon Raida) is a Galleon from a motorcycle team. Because of their Pseudoroid DNA, most likely from Fistleo the Predatoroid, flames make them stronger and faster. However, only a few Galleons are skilled enough, and most lose control of their motorcycles.[12]

Galleon Shocker

Galleon Shocker, known as Galleon Fuse (ガレオン・ヒューズ Gareon Hyuzu) in Japan, is a Galleon that has one weapon on each arm - an Anode and a Cathode, which it sticks into the ground to produce an intense electrical current. Its body is covered in a special electro-absorptive coating, making it resistant to electric attacks.[13] They appear in Floating Ruins, Mysterious Lab and Ouroboros.

Galleon Spider

Galleon Spider (ガレオン・スパイダー Gareon Supaida) is able to perform attacks hanging from ceilings and ledges. Their performance figures are similar to those of a Galleon Hunter. An attack on one of its grappling arms will quickly bring it down.[14]
