Toadette

Toadette is a character who made her first appearance in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as Toad's partner. She appeared in all subsequent home console releases, including the hybrid release, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Like Toad, her Special Item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the Golden Mushroom. She is light and can be pushed aside easily, but her karts and bikes are exceptionally fast and have good handling. In Mario Kart Wii, she provides a big Off-Road bonus as well. Toadette is featured as an unlockable lightweight character from Double Dash!! to 8. Both Toadette and Toad are the first unlockable characters in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, before King Boo and Petey Piranha. Toadette was never a default playable character until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Her signature kart is Teddy Buggy according to a trailer. She also has a second name. According to Google, Toadette means トアデット, キノピコ also means Kinopico.

Appearance

Toadette is a female Toad whose body structure is just about the same as all other Toads. Her mushroom cap is pink with white round spots. The corners of her cap have a set of braids, which are round until the tip ends have a little bigger circle. She wears a pink dress with a red vest bearing yellow linings. Her white trousers are obscured within the dress, and her footwear features brown padded shoes.

Toadette is unavailable in the Mario Kart Arcade GP series.

Game Appearances

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Toadette first appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, where she is an unlockable character along with her default racing partner, Toad, as well as Petey Piranha and King Boo. She even has her own kart, the Toadette Kart, which is unlocked after winning the Mirror Mode Mushroom Cup. She and Toad are lightweights, meaning that they can use any kart that depends on the weight of their partner, and their Special Item is the Golden Mushroom.

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2

Although Toadette doesn't physically appear in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, she gets a cameo in Yoshi Park 2 where large paper cutouts of her, Toad, and Toadsworth appear in the Trick House.

Mario Kart Wii

Toadette returns in Mario Kart Wii as an unlockable character. She is a lightweight racer, and she is able to use all lightweight karts and bikes in a white and magenta color to reference her style, including her signature vehicle, the Magikruiser, which is also unlockable. She gets an Off-Road bonus, the only lightweight to do so, and a slight Speed bonus, which is shared with Rosalina, Baby Peach, and the player's Mii.

Mario Kart 8 (including Deluxe)

In Mario Kart 8, Toadette is one again an unlockable character. Stat-wise, Toadette is one of the heavier lightweights (along with Toad, Koopa Troopa, Shy Guy, Lakitu, Larry, Wendy, and Isabelle), outweighing Lemmy Koopa and all five baby characters, but she's still lighter than Peach, Daisy, and Yoshi.

Toadette, Rosalina, and Wendy all make an appearance on two of the four "Womeen of Racing Organization" posters seen on Royal Raceway. She is also the Normal Staff Ghost for Toad Harbor.

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, all of the characters from Mario Kart 8 are returned, including Toadette. She is unlocked from the start and shares her stats with Wendy and Isabelle. She is the 200cc Staff Ghost for Toad's Turnpike.

Mario Kart Tour

She reappears in Mario Kart Tour as of the game's release, classified as a Super driver. She is one of the three possible starter characters along with Toad and her form that originally appeared in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, known as Peachette. Just like Toad, her Special Skill is the Triple Mushrooms. Also, the Mushmellow, a returning kart in this game, also has a color variant based on her.

Trivia!

• Toadette is the first character to debut in the Mario series in a Mario Kart game, the second, third, and forth being Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach, respectively.
  • Coincidentally, they are all females.
• Toadette is the only Small racer In Mario Kart Wii to boost the Off-Road stat.
• Although she was originally planned to reappear in Mario Kart 7 as a playable character along with Waluigi, Toadette was removed from the game's final build due to time constraints.
• It is widely assumed that Toad and Toadette are boyfriend and girlfriend however, the official guides for Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe state that they're brother and sister.
