Toad Rally is a mode appearing exclusively in Super Mario Run.
Gameplay
In Toad Rally, you must compete against a different player to obtain more Toads. If you win, you will gain Toads. But if you lose, you will be forced to give your opponent Toads. The obtainable Toads are Red Toads, Yellow Toads, Blue Toads, Green Toads, and Purple Toads (Not to be confused with Toadette). You must purchase the full version to be able to obtain the latter four. As you gain Toads, they will appear near the bottom of the screen in a paper-ish form.
Mechanics
Toad Rally is an online mode. You must race an opponent in a regular course. The opponent will be barely visible for a short time then will disappear. As you jump, run, and do all sorts of actions, you will gain some blue stars that fill a meter at the top of the screen below the timer. When it is filled, a blue Super Star will hover above the player for a bit, before being collected and initiating a Coin Rush. Doing the tricks like jumping that earn stars will increase the duration of the effect until it stops. Collecting a Super Star will trigger the effect too, only the player will be invincible this time
In a recent update to promote one of the new games, the Star was replaced by the Wonder Flower. During the Wonder Effect (Coin Rush), Golden coins are replaced by Golden Goombas (but aren’t actually Goombas, they are just a skin) who have the animation style of the Super Mario Bros Wonder game. Pink coins are replaced with Purple Flower Coins
