The Sparklas are protagonistic characters from the game Princess Peach: Showtime!. They are a group of ten Theets that correspond to the power-ups that Princess Peach is able to use in her adventures.

Profile

Appearance

Due to their nature as Theets, the Sparklas are yellow humanoid beings with stubby feet (The Mermaid Sparkla is an exception; her upper body matches the other Sparklas, but she has a piscine tail rather than legs.). Their noses light up depending on their mood.

In Princess Peach: Showtime!

Each Sparkla has been locked in the basement. There, Princess Peach will find ten levels each with a Sparkla trapped in it.

Swordfighter Sparkla

The Swordfighter Sparkla is the first Sparkla found. Peach will be forced to start his level, which is given the name The Dark Swordfighter & The Arena and can be played for free after completion, when she clears The Ghostly Castle. When found, he gives a warning about the place just before the Dark Swordfighter appears. Peach and the swordfighter fight, but Peach comes out on top. However, the Dark Swordfighter returns to get his hands on victory, but the Sparkla blocks the attack with his own weapon, and Peach joins the Sparkla in delivering the killing blow to his captor. The Sparkla is dressed in a blue swordsman's uniform, and his weapon is a rapier. He is also one of the few Theets to not be bald, having brown hair covering one eye.

Ninja Sparkla

The Ninja Sparkla is trapped in the level The Dark Ninja & The Legion of Guards, with his stage being unlocked by clearing Ninjutsu: The Art of Flames. He is dressed in black and has to be freed from the level's titular villain.

Dashing Thief Sparkla

The Dashing Thief Sparkla is in the level The Dark Prison & The Dangerous Trap, with his stage being unlocked by clearing The Stolen Statue. His liberation requires hacking into some panels that keep his cage locked, and he and Peach have to use their Dashing Thief skills to escape.

Patissiere Sparkla

The Patissiere Sparkla is in the level The Dark Baker & The Bewitching Sweets. Her stage is unlocked by clearing Welcome to the Spooky Party. When found, she bears a stereotypical Sour Bunch goon's personality (calling Grape "Madame Grape") and purple eyes, implying that something is wrong with her. She challenges Peach to a bake-off. Should Peach win, the Sparkla will taste the cake, losing the Sour Bunch goon persona and revealing that she was possessed. After the Sparkla celebrates her return to normalcy, the girls make their way to the exit, but get cornered by the Dark Baker, who challenges them to a second baking contest; this time, they work together versus him. Upon defeat, the Dark Baker takes his loss rather poorly, so the girls make a tasty cookie that he eats. This done, the Dark Baker allows them to depart.

This Sparkla wears a chef's uniform.

Mighty Sparkla

The Mighty Sparkla is found in the level The Dark Space & The Great Meteor. His stage is unlocked by completing Mighty Mission: The Rescue. He is first seen in a cage that Professor Theet is trying to hack. To buy the professor some time, Peach has to repel meteors and Sour Bunch goons; if she fails, Professor Theet will fall and Peach will fail the level. After the Sparkla is freed, the duo find that their exit has been targeted by meteors, so they take an elevator up to the skies. The two team up with a setup where Peach throws the Mighty Sparkla ahead repeatedly, destroying the meteors and freeing up the way out.

This Sparkla has red armour and jets on his back.

Figure Skater Sparkla

The Figure Skater Sparkla is in the level The Dark Ice & The Shadowy Stage. Her stage is unlockd by completing the level A Parade On Ice. She is trapped in a cage that Peach has to destroy by knocking the Sour Bunch Figure Skater down. As the figure skater tries to get back on his feet, Peach must spin, jump, or do both at snowflake marks on the ground; doing so five times destroys the cage, at which point Peach and the Sparkla team up to land the final blow. The girls must then escape by jumping and/or spinning at snowflake marks on the ground as they head towards the exit; doing so prevents the obstacles from being a hindrance.

Detective Sparkla

The Detective Sparkla is in the level The Dark Museum & The Purple Mystery. His stage is unlocked by completing the level The Case Of The Rainy Day Plot. When she enters the level, Peach must solve some mysteries to get deeper into the museum. She also finds a note that the Sparkla left behind as a big door leading even deeper closes, and in it, he claims that the big door will only open if the exhibits with a shared element are examined in the proper order. After she examines these exhibits in the proper order, Peach will find room where the Junior Detective Theet claims that he has found the Detective Sparkla, but there is a problem: he brought three fakes accidentally as well. The real deal is confident while the fakes express emotion. After the real deal is found, he teams up with Peach to find the exit. The duo find the path blocked, but when they attempt to go back, they end up in an imperfect copy of the same room; Peach has to find the blemish to escape. The duo eventually reach the roof where the Junior Detective claims to have found their way out. Upon being interrogated by Peach and the Sparkla, it is revealed that the Junior Detective isn't actually there at all; his identity was stolen by a Sour Bunch goon, who acts as the "boss" of the level. Busting this goon is required to get the Detective Sparkla to freedom.

This Sparkla has a brown coat that covers most of his body, much like Sherlock Holmes.

Kung Fu Sparkla

The Kung Fu Sparkla is in the level The Dark School & The Twisted Fist. His stage is unlocked by completing the level A Kung Fu Legend, where he is captured by the Sour Bunch, and Peach has to fight through them to reach the. The Sour Bunch Kung Fu Master, the man responsible for capturing the Sparkla, serves as the level's boss, and he has the ability to create copies that Peach has to destroy before she and the master himself can fight. After Peach deflects his fireballs, the Kung Fu Master loses his grip on the Kung Fu Sparkla. The duo team up against the Kung Fu Master, eventually killing him and escaping.

This Sparkla has an orange mask that covers his face and wears a purple kung fu uniform.

Mermaid Sparkla

The Mermaid Sparkla is in the level The Dark Depths & The Swirling Currents. Her stage is unlocked by completing the level Blight Of The Sea. Peach needs to use her mermaid transformation's singing powers to open clams. The Sparkla is in one of them, and the duo team up when she is busted out. The girls find the exit blocked by raging whirlpools, so they sing a song to send the sea creatures close by to dispel the whirlpools, unblocking the path forward.

This Sparkla has a green dress with a light blue skirt and a pink mermaid tail.

Cowgirl Sparkla

The Cowgirl Sparkla is in the level The Dark Locomotive & The Doomed Town. Her stage is unlocked by clearing Cowgirl At Dusk. Peach gets a message from a horse when she enters the level: the Cowgirl Sparkla has been tied down to the tracks, and will get smashed by a train if she doesn't escape. Peach teams up with the horse to get past the train and rescue the Sparkla by hitting her with a lasso lash, and the duo team up to leave the stage afterwards. As Peach and the Sparkla get close to the exit, they overtake the train; Peach has to use her lasso to keep the train at bay and escape.

Unlike the rest of the female Sparklas, the Cowgirl Sparkla lacks eyelashes, and is thus easily mistaken for a male; the word "Cowgirl" in her title serves as the only hint towards her sex.
