The Awazon River Basin is the main setting of Virtual Boy Wario Land. One of its notable locations is the Aldegara Waterfall.
Etymology
The first two words of the name refer to the Amazon River, but with the M substituted for a W, which is the same way how Wario's name was derived of Mario's.
In Virtual Boy Wario Land
The Awazon River Basin is where Wario went to for a vacation. At one point, he flies his Bulldog to the Aldegara Waterfall, where he notices three Mask-Guys taking treasure behind there. Because of his love for treasure, Wario pursues the Mask-Guys, hoping to steal the treasure. However, the floor collapses, putting Wario in various underground areas set beneath the Awazon River Basin for a majority of his adventure.
