Bob

Bob (ボブ, Bobu) is a supporting character of MAD series.

He was a soldier in Jericho in charge of guarding and bringing food to the prisoners. He has now left Jericho with Maya and Lily and is helping John control his abilities.

Appearance

Bob is the same height as the other soldiers. He usually wears his uniform so his appearance without it is unknown, although it has been seen that his hair can be dark in color. Although his appearance is unknown, Bob is recognizable thanks to a mark on his helmet, which is a wound caused by Leon when trying to escape in the past, which covers much of the left side of his helmet.

Personality

Bob has a calm and submissive personality, so he obeys everything Leon orders him to do even if he doesn't agree with him. He has proven to be able to oppose the orders of his superiors, but due to the risk that his loved ones will be punished for his actions, they make Bob obey.

Bob has been shown to be kind and gentle to other people, greeting all the prisoners despite the fact that they are treated like garbage by the rest of his co-workers. He has shown to disagree with Norman's philosophy and has tried to escape once with Lily and several children.

According to some guards, Bob is known to be the most obedient dog of them all.

Background

At some point, Bob was sent on an expedition to gather supplies and search for survivors with a team, however he would end up getting lost and moving away from them, however he would be found by a group of survivors belonging to Grius who would help him.^[1]

Bob once escaped from Jericho with Lily and several children, however he was captured and punished by Leon, despite this Bob continues working in Jericho although under strict conditions and being branded a traitor by his other co-workers.^[2]

Relationships

Lily

Bob is in love with Lily and although it seems to be reciprocal, both have to keep their distance due to Jericho's conditions as well as trying to escape together which made Bob be marked as a traitor. Despite that, Bob still sees Lily as a special person for him and does not like the treatment that Oscar usually gives her.

Oscar

Oscar is Bob's superior and although he doesn't give Bob direct orders, Oscar often treats him like trash that gets between him and his love Lily. Bob despises him for the way he treats Lily however he can't do anything to confront him due to his status as a traitor which would only give Lily trouble. After the fall of Jericho, when Oscar tried to take her force, Bob bravely confroted him to protect her, even knowing that the chances of eliminating Oscar were minimal.

John

Ever since he met John, he has been very intrigued by him, and his silently watched his unwavering will to no give in to despair after John's awakening as an adaptor and fall of Jericho, Bob sees great potential in John and believes that he could be a great trump in the war against aliens and that helping him control his powers has becomes great companion for John.
