Better safe than sorry. I'll go warn the Night Pride.
―Ullu[src]

Ullu is a female owl. She currently serves as a scout for the Night Pride.

When an army of predators threatened the Tree of Life, Ullu worked alongside the Night Pride to keep the army from crossing the border and harming the Tree of Life's animal residents. Eventually, the army launched a final assault on the Tree of Life, but Ullu warned the Lion Guard and the Night Pride of the invasion, and they worked together to drive out the army for good.

Biography

Early life

Ullu lived at the Tree of Life. At some point in her life, she began to serve as a scout for the Night Pride.[1]

Encounter with the Lion Guard

Who could that be? Hmm.
―Ullu on the Lion Guard[src]

When the Lion Guard approached the mountain pass that led to the Tree of Life, Ullu noticed from a nearby tree. Unsure if the team was a threat, she departed to warn the Night Pride. Once she had led the Night Pride to the mountain pass, which had been blocked by a rockslide, Ullu noted that the pass had not been blocked before. Rani thanked Ullu for her efforts, and Ullu declared that she was happy to help.[1]

Encounter with Makucha's army

Nirmala! Rani needs you! The predators are attacking again!
―Ullu on Makucha's army[src]

While at the mountain pass, Ullu overheard Makucha plotting to attack the Tree of Life with his allies, Chuluun and Ora. She reported what she had heard to Rani, who led the Night Pride in an attack on the army.[2]

Mama Binturong's plot

Rani. Night Pride. That ginterbong isn't who she says she is!

Ullu overheard Mama Binturong pretending to be in peril and led the Night Pride to the scene of the incident. Once there, the Night Pride rescued Mama Binturong from a perceived attack by Makucha and his army.

Later, Ullu informed the Lion Guard that Mama Binturong was being attacked by Chuluun near Ciso River. Ono realized that it was a trap and sent Ullu to tell Rani. Ullu arrived in time to inform the Night Pride of Mama Binturong's deception, and Bunga and Binga defeated Mama Binturong by using their combined stinks.[3]

Janna's death

Queen Janna needs you and the Night Pride.
―Ullu to Rani[src]

Ullu informed the Night Pride that Janna wished to see them right away. She led the pride to the Tree of Life, where they saw a crowd of animals who had gathered at its base. This made them realize that Janna was dying. After Janna's death, Ullu attended her funeral at the Willows. She also attended Rani's coronation.[4]

Makucha's army's attack

Lion Guard! Makucha, Ora, and Chuluun are headed back up the mountain pass.
―Ullu[src]

At sunset, Ullu warned the Lion Guard and the Night Pride that Makucha's army was attacking.[5]

Battle for the Tree of Life

Mama Binturong is headed this way. With an army of villains.
―Ullu[src]

Makucha and his army snuck into the Tree of Life's territory due to Ullu falling asleep. The Night Pride arrived to confront the army, only for the Lion Guard to take over the shift and defeat them instead.

Later, Makucha's army invaded the Tree of Life. Ullu attempted to warn the Night Pride, but Mama Binturong captured her and tasked Smun and his prickle with keeping her incapacitated. Thinking quickly, Ullu scared Smun by turning her head completely backward, after which she flew away from him and his prickle.

Ullu warned the Night Pride about the army's attack, and they rushed to the Tree of Life, only to be shut in by a giant rock pushed by Ora and his minions. With the Night Pride out of commission, the army attacked the animals at the Tree of Life. After being warned by Ullu, the Lion Guard arrived in time to defeat the army and save the Tree of Life's animal residents.[6]

Encounter with Azaad

Queen Rani. Lion Guard. I've spotted a cheetah making his way up the pass.
―Ullu on Azaad[src]

Ullu spotted Azaad en route to the Tree of Life and warned the Lion Guard and Rani of his imminent arrival.[7]

Physical appearance

Ullu is a moderately sized owl. She has white feathers, with a gray ruff and several markings on her chest and wings. Her talons are dark gray, and her eyes are blue.[1]

Personality and traits

Ullu is observant and perceptive. She tends to ere on the side of safety, as she reported the Lion Guard's presence to the Night Pride despite not knowing their intentions.[1] She is also quite clever, as demonstrated when she turned her head completely backward to escape Smun and his prickle.[6]
