Tuliza

Tuliza

Tuliza is a flowering plant that grows both within and beyond the borders of the Pride Lands. It is used to relieve stress and pain.

History

Battle for the Pride Lands

When Kion was bit by Ushari, he was left with a scar. The venom from the wound slowly began to seep through him, influencing his decisions and making him lose control of the Roar of the Elders. Rafiki and Makini had Kion eat tuliza so as to calm him down.[1]

The harmattan

When Kion lost his temper with Makucha, Makini offered him tuliza. At first, Kion refused, but with some persuasion from Fuli, he relented and took a dose. This calmed him down.[2]

Trekking the mountain

Anga spotted a clump of tuliza on a ridge. Bunga climbed up to fetch it, but fell, which resulted in the red pandas naming him their savior.[3]

Dragon Island

Makini collected tuliza for Kion, but it got swept away in a tidal wave. Later, Makini worked with Anga and Ono to find more.[4]

Crossing the desert

Memories502

While crossing the desert, Kion became short-tempered due to the pain in his scar. Makini offered him tuliza, but Kion spat it out, as it had sand in it. Later, Tupp showed the Lion Guard to a source of water, where Makini washed off the tuliza and gave it to Kion. This time, it had the desired effect.[5]

In Azaad's territory

When Kion's temper flared, the Lion Guard searched for tuliza. Anga spotted a patch across the desert, and Fuli volunteered to fetch it. Along the way, she crossed through a lone cheetah's Azaad's territory. The cheetah, Azaad, only allowed her to fetch the tuliza if she bested him in a race. Fuli agreed and won Azaad over by behaving selflessly during the race. After the race, Azaad assisted her in collecting the tuliza and bringing it to Kion. Fuli arrived just in time to stop Kion from using the Roar of the Elders on a flock of flamingos.[6]

Meeting Mama Binturong

The Lion Guard entered a forest, where they hunted for more tuliza. However, every time they mentioedn the plant's name, the animals fled. The forest's matriarch, Mama Binturong, caught wind of the Lion Guard's plans and schemed to steal their tuliza, as she hoarded all the tuliza in the forest.

With the help of Smun, Mama Binturong stole Makini's staff, which stored the team's tuliza. She brought it to her hideout, which was a mound of hoarded tuliza. Bunga pursued her, stole back Makini's staff, and used his stink to ruin Mama Binturong's tuliza stash.[7]

Kion's struggle

The Lion Guard attempted to use tuliza to calm down Kion only to find that the remedy did not work anymore.[8]
