The marsh is a location. It is marked by a moja kwa moja stone as one of the landmarks on the path to the Tree of Life.

The Lion Guard
"Marsh of Mystery"
On their way to the Tree of Life, the Lion Guard arrives at the marsh, through which they must travel to reach the next moja kwa moja stone. Before long, Makini and Ono wander off and get lost, while the rest of the Lion Guard is left to deal with an aggressive pack of mongooses. Makini and Ono work together to eventually find their way back to the Lion Guard, and the group moves on.
"Journey to the Pride Lands"
On their way to the Pride Lands, the Lion Guard crosses through the marsh. Beshte gets trapped in vines, and Kion uses the Roar of the Elders to free him.
