History
Termite infestation
“ | ” |
One day, Ono reported to the rest of the Lion Guard that the Mekundu bats were asleep inside a collapsing tree. The team hastened to the tree and yelled for the bats to wake up, to no avail. Eventually, Bunga climbed inside the tree and woke the bats up, which caused them to swarm out of the tree. Once the bats had gone, the tree collapsed, and the Lion Guard realized that it had been weakened due to a termite infestation.[1]

While in the marsh, Makini and Ono fell into a deep hole. The two began to explore a network of underground tunnels, during which they got swarmed by bats. Once the bats had gone, Ono got the idea to use echolocation to navigate out of the underground.[2]
Physical characteristics
Bats are small- to medium-sized creatures, with large ears, pig-like snouts, and wings. Most bats in the Pride Lands have brown fur, with patches of white on their foreheads and chests, and brown eyes.[1] Bats in the marsh have cream and brown fur with pink wings.[2]
