Back again, Badili? Where are all your little buddies? Did you bring 'em along to stand up for you again?
―Mapigano on the Lion Guard[src]

Mapigano is a male leopard.

Mapigano took advantage of an unassertive young leopard named Badili by bullying him into giving up his territory. Because of Mapigano's cruelty, Badili was forced into the Pride Lands, where he encountered the Lion Guard. Though the Lion Guard came to Mirihi Forest and drove out Mapigano, he simply returned the next day and forced Badili out again. This time, the Lion Guard schooled Badili in self-confidence, and he returned to his territory with newfound determination. Badili's attitude change intimidated Mapigano, who fled the territory for good.

Biography

Early life

Mapigano lived in the Back Lands.[1]

Terrorizing Badili

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I told you this ain't your turf no more.

Mapigano purposefully targeted a feeble young leopard named Badili, whom he bullied into leaving Mirihi Forest. With Badili gone, Mapigano took up residence in the territory, claiming the lands as his own.

Meanwhile, Badili was found by the Lion Guard, who told him that he must leave the Pride Lands and return to his original territory. With little choice but to listen to them, Badili did as he was told and returned to Mirihi Forest. There, he was confronted by Mapigano, who demanded to know why Badili had come back. When Badili had no answer for him, Mapigano tried to run him off. Just then, the Lion Guard emerged and forced Mapigano to leave the territory to Badili.

The next day, Mapigano simply took Badili's territory back from him, and the Lion Guard once more found Badili in the Pride Lands. This time, they schooled him in how to be confident, encouraged him to stand up to Mapigano, and trained him in speed, strength, and courage. At last, Badili was deemed ready to return to Mirihi Forest and challenge Mapigano.

Badili spotted Mapigano napping in a tree and began to butt against the tree until Mapigano fell to the ground. Badili then proclaimed that the territory belonged to him. Mapigano simply laughed and launched an attack, ridiculing Badili for being a coward. In a sudden burst of courage, Badili proclaimed that he was not afraid and roared into Mapigano's face to show his ferocity. Thoroughly intimidated, Mapigano turned tail and fled Mirihi Forest.[1]

Physical appearance

You miss me? Forget how much bigger and how much stronger I am?
―Mapigano intimidates Badili[src]

Mapigano is a large and well-built leopard. He has light gold fur marked with both white spots and black and brown spots. His head is large and boxy, and he has large red eyes, bushy eyebrows, three teardrop-shaped spots on his forehead, and tufts of longer fur on his chin and cheeks. He also has wide rounded ears, long black whiskers, and a striped black and white tail.[1]

Personality and traits

Didn't I make myself clear? Was I speaking a language you don't understand?
―Mapigano talks down to Badili[src]

Mapigano is aggressive, bullying, and self-absorbed, with an inclination to harass those who are weaker of will. He took no shame in embarrassing the much less ferocious Badili and laughed at his every attempt to stand up for himself. He speaks loudly and roughly, and tends to utilize slang in his speech. However, Mapigano is ultimately a coward, as he caves to anyone who stands up to him.[1]
