'Cause they're young and easy to trick.
―Kijana on young prey animals[src]

Kijana is a female jackal. She is a member of Reirei's pack. She is the daughter of Goigoi and Reirei, and the sister of Dogo and unnamed male pups.

Kijana and her family attacked Bunga and several young animals he was babysitting. However, since Bunga had taught the youngsters self-defense moves, the animals were able to fend off the jackals.

Later, Kijana and her family fought alongside their fellow Outlanders in a battle against the Pride Landers. The jackals and their allies lost the fight, after which they submitted to Jasiri's queenship over the Outlanders.

Biography

Early life

Kijana was born to Goigoi and Reirei. She had many brothers, including Dogo. Along with her pack, she lived in the Outlands.[1]

Attack on Bunga's charges

Uh. None of them are little, Mom.
―Kijana to Reirei while practice-hunting[src]

Kijana and her family attacked a herd of zebras. While Kijana's mother, Reirei, led an attack against the bulk of the herd, Kijana and her brother, Dogo, separated a young colt named Hamu from the rest of the zebras. While Kijana hid in the brush, Dogo feigned friendliness to Hamu and convinced the young colt to stop running away. As Dogo continued to sweet-talk Hamu, Kijana snuck up from behind but was disrupted by Ono, who warned Hamu of the danger. Just then, Bunga tackled Kijana to the ground, and Hamu fended off Dogo with a kick. Defeated, Kijana and Dogo were led by Bunga back to their mother, who took the pack back to their home in the Outlands.

Back in the Outlands, Kijana and Dogo practiced separating young animals from the herd on their father, Goigoi. They did so well that Reirei decided to return to the Pride Lands. Once there, the jackals learned that Bunga was babysitting a group of young animals, and Reirei decided to lead her pups to the young animals while Goigoi distracted the Lion Guard.

Once at Hakuna Matata Falls, Kijana and her family attacked the young animals. However, with the help of Bunga, the children were able to defeat the jackals, who were forced to retreat once more to the Outlands.[1]

Battle for the Pride Lands

After Scar's resurrection, Kijana and her pack joined the Army of Scar. During the Pride Lander invasion of the Outlands, Kijana and her brothers defended their homeland from the attacking army. However, they were stopped by Shujaa, who threw a rock at them. After the battle, Jasiri was named the queen of the Outlands, and the jackals submitted to her authority.[2]

Physical appearance

Kijana is a small, compact jackal with large ears and thin legs. Her pelt is light brown, while her chest, muzzle, and legs are paler in color. She has a long dark stripe that runs up her back and ends in a tuft over her eyes, which are teal.[1]

Personality and traits

Having been raised by her ruthless mother Reirei, Kijana is ferocious and scheming. She takes no shame in harming or tricking other animals and works well with her brother, Dogo.[1]
