―Eddie to Timon[src]

Eduardo "Eddie" is a male snake.

Eddie and his friend, Ralph, set up a free bug buffet in the Amazon in order to entrap unsuspecting animals. Timon fell for the trap, and Eddie excitedly informed Ralph of their catch, unaware that Timon's friend, Pumbaa, was listening in. However, when Pumbaa tried to warn Timon, the meerkat did not see reason. This enabled Ralph and Eddie to capture the two and tie them above a boiling cauldron. Timon and Pumbaa managed to escape and set up a fake restaurant in the Amazon, which drew in Ralph and Eddie, then dumped them in a river of piranhas.

Biography

Early life

Eddie lived in the Amazon. At some point in his life, he befriended a fellow snake named Ralph.[1]

Skirmish with Timon and Pumbaa

Timon tried to sneak up on water bugs in the Amazon River, only for Pumbaa to scare them away. Bubbles then appeared around the duo. Timon at first thought it was Pumbaa, but it was revealed to be piranhas swimming around them.

Having ignored the warning signs, Timon and Pumbaa sought bugs on land. Sarcastically, Timon said it would be nice to find an all-you-can-eat bug buffet. Immediately, they spotted a free buffet, which Pumbaa found to be too good to be true. Timon began to gorge himself, but Pumbaa remained suspicious. Eddie then showed up. Timon mistook the snake for their waiter and requested ants for the feast.

Eddie went to his cohort Ralph, the mastermind behind the plan to lure and eat animals, and told him that they needed to get ants. Ralph reminded him that they were the hungry ones, not Timon and Pumbaa. Ralph then sent Eddie off to get horseradish for the meal, unaware that Pumbaa was listening in on them.

Pumbaa charged back to tell Timon, who had gotten extremely obese, that the snakes planned to eat them. Ralph swept in and snatched Pumbaa away but, when he missed Timon, told him that he had to take him to the VIP dining room. When the duo got tied above a boiling cauldron, Timon finally realized the snakes' true intentions. Timon and Pumbaa soon escaped and began plotting to trick the snakes.

The duo set up a fast food restaurant that catered to carnivores. The snakes fell for the trick and slithered into the restaurant, which was built on the edge of a cliff over the Amazon River. The two predators fell in and were chased away by the voracious piranhas, while Timon laughed at them and cracked jokes.[1]

Physical appearance

Eddie is a large snake. He has bright pink scales, with a yellow underbelly, blue spots, buck teeth, and a lolling red tongue. His hair is red and in a bowl cut, while his eyes are blue.[1]

Personality and traits

Eddie: We are going to eat them! Okay, I got it now, Ralph! Let me try again. Let me try again. Please?
Ralph: No, you're too slow, in more ways than one!
—Eddie and Ralph[src]

Eddie is dim-witted and idiotic, as shown when he forgot about his and Ralph's plan to eat Timon and Pumbaa. He is quite literal; when Ralph sent him to bring horseradish for the meal, he retrieved a horse and a radish instead.[1]

Appearances

Trivia

  • Eddie is similar to Ed from The Lion King; both are dim-witted, have lolling tongues, and submit readily to their leader. Even their names are similar.[3]
