Xu Shanshan (Chinese: 徐姗姗 Xú Shānshān) is a character from Link Click.
She is an old school friend of Qiao Ling, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang. She comes to the studio as a client after Qiao Ling suggests that they can help her figure out what Dong Yi said to her when she was drunk.
Appearance
Xu Shanshan has reddish-brown hair, and darker purple eyes. She wears jean shorts and a dark, teal short tank-top that reveals her midriff. She is typically shown with her hair tied back in a ponytail, with a light teal hair tie. Her hair goes down to her shoulders and has her bangs parted in the middle. She accessorizes with a white belt and a small, red cross body purse.
In college she is seen also wearing a green v-neck tank top with two yellow accent lines, a pink sweatshirt wrapped around her waist, blue shorts, tube socks with a pink line across the top, and yellow sneakers. [1]
Personality
A seemingly serious person who is a hopeless romantic. She is caring and often makes jokes around her friends, but can become shy and flustered when alone with Dong Yi. She is seen in Episode 8 laying on the bed with Qiao Ling teasing each other after Xu Shanshan tells Qiao Ling that she is staying in college for her postgraduates.

She is known to be good at videogames and has been offered food in exchange for carrying Dong Yi through games. When doing karaoke her classmates choose for her to sing "Into the Sea" (入海) By Mao Buyi and they note that she is good at singing.
Story
Xu Shanshan attended a university name Hui Jie Movie Academy along with Dong Yi, Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang, and Qiao Ling.
While spending time together, Xu Shanshan and Dong Yi develop feelings for one another, though they never openly express them. After a postgraduate party, Dong Yi tries to tell her something, but the drunken Xu Shanshan passes out before he can speak.
Wanting to know what he said but at the same time afraid to ask him directly, Xu Shanshan comes to the Time Photo Studio for help the next day. However, unexpected complications in the photo result in her appearing on an exaggerated news article, presenting her as a brave hero defeating a criminal on her own. Despite Cheng Xiaoshi's distraction, Lu Guang still manages to extract Dong Yi's words with his own ability, and later relays it to Xu Shanshan: Xu Shanshan, there is something I'd like to talk to you about. Around the time we graduated, my parents were telling me to go home ASAP, where my dad had already had everything arranged for me. I knew I couldn't stay in this city after graduating. I was afraid to confess to you, because I didn't want to hurt you after you kept me company for six years. Only now, when I have no choice but to graduate, do I realize that I wish to stay no matter how hard it might get, because leaving you is more painful than anything else. Additionally, Dong Yi has invited her to accompany him to a interview the next day.
The news article catches the attention of Liu Min, who, seeing Xu Shanshan as someone who opposes him, asks the special ability user Li Tianchen to dispose of her. Li Tianchen, using remote control abilities, possesses Liu Min and sneaks into Xu Shanshan's residence at night to attack her.
The next day, the photo studio trio find Xu Shanshan missing and suspicious messages sent from her phone. Lu Guang finds out about the attack via a selfie she posted on WeChat. Devising a radical plan, Cheng Xiaoshi enters the photo to make a deal with the attacker to ensure Xu Shanshan's safety, and to lure him into the present-time photo studio where Liu Min would be captured.
Later, Xu Shanshan is found by the police on one of Liu Min's properties, frightened but otherwise unharmed, ending the couple's story arc with a tearful reunion.
Relationships
Qiao Ling
She is close friends with Qiao Ling. The two were seen often meeting up to hang out in the episodes Xu Shanshan was present in, such as the "dive back" of episode 6.[2] During college they would often hang out and watch movies together. Qiao Ling is someone that Xu Shanshan has trusted for a long time, confiding in her about her own crush on Dong Yi. Qiao Ling is the first one to suggest that Xu Shanshan go to the photo studio in order for Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi to help with her Dong Yi issue in episode 8.[3]
Dong Yi
He is her long time crush from college and a friend of six years. Qiao Ling suggest that they already act like a married couple. She decides to pursue her postgraduates in order to stay with Dong Yi when he tells her he will be staying at college for his as well. It is later revealed that Dong Yi also decided to pursue them as a way of staying close to Xu Shanshan as well.[3]
In our four years of university I've already gotten so used to it. Having meals with you, going to class with you, playing games together, taking walks aimlessly around campus, speaking thoughtless words we both understand.

It is heavily implied that both have feelings for each other throughout college but, are too shy to admit it to each other. Xu Shanshan believes that Dong Yi should be the one to make the first move. It appears that everyone around them thinks they are a couple based on how they act, except Cheng Xiaoshi who is surprised upon hearing Xu's feelings, while never actually confirming their feelings for each other. It's revealed in episode 8 when Dong Yi explains why he never confessed, while Xu Shanshan is drunk.[3]
I was afraid of hurting you who had stayed by my side for six years. Now that I have to graduate, I finally realized no matter how hard the future may be, I want to stay. Because leaving you hurts more than anything else.

Dong Yi indirectly hints that if she feels the same then, she should meet him at his job interview however, she is unable to make it.
Cheng Xiaoshi
Similarly to the relationship Cheng Xiaoshi has with Lu Guang, it appears that they also have a love hate relationship. It is seen when Cheng Xiaoshi goes into her photo in episode 8 and makes her pick her nose while in her body "for revenge." Despite both being casual individuals, Cheng Xiaoshi takes it upon himself to save her in episode 9 when she didn't reply to any of her texts.[3]
Lu Guang
She is not seen making too much conversation with Lu Guang, but subtext implies that she trusts him to figure out her lost memory and that he is more reliable than Cheng Xiaoshi. When Cheng Xiaoshi got distracted while in Xu Shanshan's body in episode 8, Lu Guang is the one that listens to Dong Yi's words and fulfills her request. [3]
Liu Min
Liu Min is her kidnapper in episode 9 when she goes missing. It is implied that Liu originally planned to kill her since he was coming at her with a knife before Cheng Xiaoshi "dived back" into her body to stop the attack and make a deal. Xu Shanshan is then seen leaving Liu Min's house in episode 11 where she was kept in his garage.[4]
