Soh is the deuteragonist of Kamitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and the character controlled by the player.
Background
Soh is a messenger of the Mountain Goddess who guides and governs the world of chaos alongside Yoshiro. The two descended into the human world; Yoshiro offering guidance and Soh bequeathing power via the masks. The sword that Soh wields contains the powers of the Twelve Divine Generals, granting them the ability to stand alone against the defilement. The defilement that Soh purges may transform into mighty power, but the radiance of the sun begins to cast a darker shadow.
Characteristics
Soh is the main controllable character, an expert divine swordsman who uses a dance-like, fluid set of attacks. There are two basic attacks Soh can make, a light attack (LMB on PC) and a heavy attack (RMB), distinguished by an orange wake. Oka Dance is the basic style, and the pattern of attack will change depending on combos:
- Light Attack: Attacks a small area in front.
- Light Attack + Heavy Attack: Jump attack, effective against flying Seethe.
- Light Attack + Light Attack + Heavy Attack: Broad slash in front of Soh.
- Light Attack + Light Attack + Light Attack + Heavy Attack: Multiple slashes as Soh weaves their way; the direction isn't fixed and it's possible to circle around while attacking for a devastating crowd control effect.
Beyond combat, Soh is responsible for clearing defilement (earning crystals and unlocking other goodies) in stages, carving a spirit path for Yoshiro to follow, commanding villagers and assigning them roles, and healing both themselves and the villagers using rations.
Upgrades
Initially, Soh can make use of Tsuba Guards and Mazo Talismans to upgrade their performance in battle (one and two respectively, upgraded over the course of the game to a max of three and five).
After defeating Batsu, they gain the opportunity to use Musubi to upgrade their own prowess in battle. Completely upgrading Soh requires 300 Musubi.
