Seethe

The Seethe are the horrific emanations of the spirit realm that have invaded Mount Kafuku and defiled the holy mountain. Although their defilement persists across the mountain, they are only capable of attacking at night - but when they do, they rampage across the land unchecked - at least unless Soh and Yoshiro intervene.

These are the principal enemies of Kamitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and come in a broad variety of shapes, sizes, and types, each with their own attacks, behaviors, and requiring different strategies to tackle. The one common thing is that they can only come out at night, through corrupted Torii gates: As such, the goal of each of the stages is to purify one or more gates to stop the Seethe from coming and reclaim them as your bases.

Types

Ground Seethe

These attack on the ground, as the name suggests, and represent a broad variety of attackers that have a common vulnerability to Soh's sword.

  • Gaki: The most basic melee attacker.
  • Shibakaki: A basic ranged attacker.
  • Sumigaki: A larger, more vicious version of the Gaki with the ability to put up a guard and counter-attack.
  • Daigaki: A giant version of the Gaki, with plenty of force to boot.
  • Gotaimen: A long-range artillery-type seethe.
  • Hozukime: An explosive Hozukime, can be used to kill other seethe.
  • Shiniku Zamurai: A perverted form of a samurai with dangerous close range attacks.
  • Shokera: A vicious melee attacker.
  • Noderabo: A massive tank.
  • Dojoyogoshi:
  • Nurikabe:

The following Seethe play support roles.

  • Kagokaburi: A walking loot box. Literally.
  • Rosokuro: Empowers other Seethe.
  • Enenra: A melee attacker who can disable Soh's command mode.

Flying Seethe

Airborne Seethe attackers, which are much less vulnerable to Soh, since they can normally be only reached when they attack (or Soh makes a jump attack).

  • Hitoban: A flying nuisance that can only attack in melee.
  • Hidarugami: A special boss-type flying Seethe that takes control of Yoshiro.
  • Kamaitachi: Once the boss is defeated, lesser kamaitachi may appear in later levels.
  • Tsurube-otoshi:

Otherwise known as bosses, each represents a unique challenge with its own behaviors and attacks.
