Meido (冥土) is a god dressed in a maid outfit and one of D's subordinates. She is the only one who can physically silence her superior and put a stop to her antics.
Appearance
Meido is described to be a graceful, pure, Japanese-style beauty who wears a maid outfit. Shiraori says that her smile is scary and the word mother comes to mind when seeing her.
Chronology
Background
In the web novel version of the story, D claimed that Meido once went on a rampage in the other world and killed all its gods except Sariel; thus, inadvertently making her responsible for the chain of events that would lead to the planet's near destruction and eventually the events the main story.
Volume 10
Meido made her debut right after the Shiraori punched off D's head twice in a fit of rage at her usual antics. This forced the former to use her powers to heal herself and subsequently led to her being found by the maid. Shiraori, however, was unaware of her presence until she revealed herself, which shocked her as she was unable to detect her despite it being her speciality. Meido then immediately made her frustrations of D abandoning her duties known and only gave her superior a scary smile when she strugged off her complaints. She then turned her attention to Shiraori and demanded D explain "what" she was, only to end up confused after learning she was a spider mutated with a piece of D's soul. With explanations done, Meido grabbed D and took her leave, telling her superior that she would be too busy to focus on anything else. After exiting the room, Shiraori tried to follow them but found they were gone without any traces.
Abilities
Due to being able to just drag around D, the presumed "strongest god", it can be assumed that Meido is a similarly immensely powerful god. In the web novel version of the story, it is even stated she is, in fact, even stronger than D. However, this is only in direct combat, due to her having focussed only on it at the cost of everything else.
- Stealth: Meido's presence is so thin that even Shiraori, who specializes in espionage and tracking, was unaware that she was standing behind her until she revealed herself. Furthermore, Shiraori further noted that she might once again lose track of her if she is careless, even if she is standing right in front of her. It is not known what kind of technique she uses, but Shiraori noted it to be different from Conjuring.
- Physical Abilities: As a god, Medio presumably has physical abilities that surpass anything that the stats given by the System can provide.
Etymology
- The name Meido means "Netherworld, underworld, Hades, other world, realm of the dead" (冥土).
- Meido wearing a maid outfit is a pun on her name Meido, which is also the Buddhist world of the dead.
Trivia
- It was implied Meido was much more aggressive and regularly sought combat in the past, and it was the reason why angels are so few in numbers.
- When she retrieved D, Meido stated that she was the one responsible for running the seven rings of Hell.
