Rana Reimia is a pureblood and a magician of Mistyshore. She is a professor at the Mistyshore University of Magic.
Appearance
Rana appears to be a young woman, with light skin tone. She has long blue hair that she ties in a ponytail, blue eyebrows, and blue eyes. When she is first introduced, she is wearing blueish-gray shoes, a grayish medium-length skirt, and a green short-sleeved shirt. She often carries a book or a notebook with her. Through-out the story, Rana displays a wide wardrobe of outfits. Most are decently concealing and often include skirts or dresses. From season 3, Rana begins to wear a hat to hide the god-level item she is wearing on her head.
Personality
Rana initially appears as a cheerful and enthusiastic child. Becoming older, and being often around Ran seems to have made her more serious, although she sometimes still shows her childish side. She appears to be quick to anger, and often responds to Ran's stupidity in a physically harmful way. She seems to like studying, and appears to idolize Asha for her achievements. She is concerned with the fact that she's aging twice as fast as Ran, and that someday she'll be too old for him.

Plot
History

Rana was orphaned at a young age[7] and she spent part of her childhood on Taitalika before moving to Willarv.[8] Because of her triple resurrection attributes, high divine affinity, and good grasps of the mechanics of time logic, she was a rising star on Willarv with great potential.[9]
In D999, when she was 10 years old, she first met Ran Sairofe, who was 20 (age of appearance 10) at the time, and she fell in love at first sight.[10] Or rather when she heard his voice for the first time.[11] She helped him cope with the loss of his parents during the Cataclysm of N0 and knows the truth of what happened.[12][13]
By N2 she started giving private lessons to Ran who struggled with many subjects.[14] She passed her magic exam in Mistyshore partnered up with Ran, who apparently used some sort of special skill that uses up lifespan to protect Rana, which resulted in a high score for the exam.[4]
Rana also won beauty contests in N7, N8, and N9.[15] In N10, she was suggested as a possible marriage candidate for Saha On, but refused.[16][17] Due to her academic successes, she was a university student at 19, associate professor by the age of 22, and full professor by 26.[18]

Rana was also a fan of Asha Rahiro.[19] She feared to confess to Ran because she worried that she would get old and ugly before him and he would not like her and she was not certain about his feelings.[15] She eventually made a deal with Eline Haias that if she can get Ran to graduate and get engaged to him, Eline would give her an item that prevents aging.[20]
Season 1
Prologue
(P) Rana is the only side character to appear in the prologue. She attempts to tutor Ran Sairofe in mathematics, but he complains that he is unable to understand anything. In response, Rana throws the table at him and gives him a bloody nose.
Chapter 8: The Wavering King
(2) In a flashback, Rana lectures Ran on the importance of accuracy when casting spells. She believes Ran fails or misses spells because he lacks theoretical understanding and is heavily reliant on intuitive calculations. When Ran insults her by saying that if they go with her words, Rana would be a worse magician than him. She promptly throws a book at him and yells she's a faster calculator than him.
In another flashback, Rana advises Ran to follow Asha's example if he is to improve, although she doubts he'll ever be as amazing as her. She considers Asha the fastest and strongest magician alive, her having even graduated from Eloth University at 16.

(6) At the Mistyshore University College of Magic, Rana is excited to meet Asha Rahiro, and is shocked to learn that she is looking for Ran, the guy who just failed Topology for the eighth time. They are interrupted by people shouting outside, excited about seeing Mr. Kasak in dragon form. Rana explains that he is in Mistyshore because his daughter, Professor Agwen, just transferred from Eloth.
Asha puts on a pair of Hunter's Eyes x50 to get a better view, and Rana remarks that Ran used to have the same model but destroyed it after the side effects almost killed him. Asha says that it's fine as long as she doesn't wear them too long, then says that the situation outside is fine since he knows better than to cause trouble for his sponsor. Rana assumes she is talking about Mr. Kasak, and Asha is about to correct her when she changes the subject back to Ran.
(7) Rana introduces Asha to Ran, but not before she hits him on the head with a book for calling Asha a pervert and titling her a cutting-edge pioneer of men's fashion. Since Ran continues to show stubbornness, Rana tries to further discipline him and straighten out Ran's misassumption of Asha's gender. However, she is stopped by Asha, who herself puts Ran in his place. Asha tells Ran to accompany her on an alternative quest for his graduation, despite his protests.
Chapter 9: Rival
(1) Ran attempts to read Learning in Pictures: Intermediate level Topology by Ignorance Publishers. Frustrated by the math symbols, he throws the book aside. He wonders if he should go on that graduation quest, but does not want to because Asha looks so vicious. Rana tells him not to miss the opportunity. When she realizes that Ran did not recognize who the person is, she reveals that the person is Asha, the 5th-ranked magician.

(2) As a child, Rana is seen around Mistyshore in year D999, where she is noticed by Ran. She appears as a beautiful and cheerful young girl to Ran, who instantly falls for her. Ran's uncle warns him that she is a pureblood and only ten years old, so she will age at a different rate compared to Ran.
In the present, Ran asks Rana to tell him her age again. When she says 26, he claims his uncle lied about purebloods aging fast, since she looks like she's still in her teens. She claims it's from the makeup. Ran decides to look really close, and notices a few wrinkles. Her face red, Rana whacks him with a book, and tells him to go pack. Ran doesn't want to go with Asha and says he'd rather go on a quest with Rana. She ignores him and leaves the room.
Rana discusses Ran's graduation and quest with Ran's uncle Huan, and his aunt, Eline. Eline asks if Rana is worried about Ran remaining a student for many more years when Rana is nearing 30, thus invalidating the conditions she agreed to. Huan asks Eline if she made some sort of wager with Rana, but Eline promises to tell him about it after Ran graduates. Rana informs them that Asha Rahiro agreed to accompany Ran's quest for a passage through the water channel. They are soon interrupted by someone with an urgent request for aid.
(3) In the year D1000/N0, Hana asks her son how he's liking the Academy. When Ran releases all his frustration and dislike for the school and the people there, Hana points out the he never skipped a single day. Hana suddenly brings up Rana and how she's pretty. Ran perks up before realizing how his mother would know that; Hana exclaims of a meat buffet as a distraction. Unwilling to drop the matter, Ran speculates it was his uncle who told her and reaffirms that him and Rana are nothing but friends. Hana clarifies she doesn't feel the same way for the matter as Huan does. How could she when she, a half, married Tan, a pure-blooded human. Hana mentions of an even more contrasting relationship: Her parents who consisted of a quarter magician and a nastika. Assuming that their conversation was a way of his mother giving him his blessing, Ran announces he'll ask Rana out, but Hana interrupt he can't. She explains to Ran the problem with relationships between a long-living being and a human start with their differing notions of time and how it seeps into how long an individual can love a single person. All Hana wants is for her son to be in love with someone who has a longer lifespan than him, that way he will never feel the heartbreak of knowing he is no longer loved by the one he loves the most.
Upon finding Agwen at a meat buffet with Asha, Rana hands her a call for aid from Atera. Upon reading it, Agwen sets off immediately.
Rana appears surprised when she notices Yuta and Leez. When Asha explains that Yuta is a Half, Rana says that Ran cannot travel with a Half, so Asha will either need to find a different magician, or exclude the Half from the party. She explains that Ran cannot bear to be near Halfs because of a trauma from the Cataclysm.
In N0, many planets disappeared overnight. It was a time of great fear. Magicians were struggling to fight rampaging inferior suras with no help from the gods who were occupied with fighting the superior suras in space. In desperation, humans turned to the halfs and viewed them as allies. However, due to the strongest case of emotional resonance in history, halfs also became violent and turned against the humans. Among those who had lost their loved ones to halfs was Agwen, whose father killed the rest of her family. Similarly, Ran's half mother turned against her own family, bringing about a shock Ran never recovered from.

(5) Rana's private lessons with Ran have started by year N2. She appears saddened seeing her student down, but attempts to motivate him to focus on learning magic so that he can protect those who he loves. His brother is now priest in Eloth and cannot be there for him all the time.
Rana is picking out clothes for Ran as they talk. He wonders when they started to address one another with familiarity and brings age into the conversation. Ran asks when Rana stopped referring to him as oppa. Rana guesses it was around when she got taller than him that she stopped using oppa. She comments that it would make more sense for Ran to call her nuna. Ran does. This disturbs Rana, and she throws an outfit at him. She informs Ran that Asha sent a message requesting he be at the Channel's entrance by the Hour of Creation. Ran asks why she is so eager to get him to graduate. He can't decide if it's because she's responsible for him, or if she wants to help a friend in need, or something else. Rana keeps quiet. Reluctant but tired of the idea of going through a ninth semester of his supposed to be final year due to Topology, Ran elects to go through with the quest, even if it is with the liar that is Asha. Rana turns to Ran to congratulate him for finally seeing the light, only to see him casually start to change, displaying his abdomen muscles, a sight that overwhelms Rana completely. Ran, referring to Rana as professor, tells her to pop her eyes back in her sockets. Embarrassed, Rana beats up Ran.

(6) After Ran has left with Asha, she wakes up in the morning with her head on her desk, notices Ran's letter along with some mango milk, and starts to read it. In the letter, Ran admits that he was reluctant to go precisely because it was Asha. Rana always told Ran to follow Asha's example, and he was sick of it. Rana smiles and thinks that it was for Ran's benefit. The rest of the letter is full of distorted versions of actual events, which embarrasses Rana.
They call back to a 19-year-old Rana (university student) fawning over Asha entering university at 13, a 22-year-old Rana (associate professor) admiring Asha for graduating at 16, and finally, a 26-year-old Rana (professor) showing a picture of Asha and talking about how hot she is.
At the end of the letter, Ran explains that he realized that Rana is in love with Asha, so he will go with 'him' to see if he is worthy of her. Shocked and horrified, Rana realizes that Ran thinks that Asha is a guy.
Chapter 11: The Power of the Name
(1) While observing Leez's unfeminine behavior, Ran cannot comprehend what Asha sees in her other than her breasts. He probes Asha about the type of look 'he's' attracted to gauge Rana's chances. When Asha replies she's not into pretty women, Ran is relieved that Rana has no shot since she's lacking in the chest department to compete with girls like Leez. Ran says a quick apology to Rana and hopes she'll give up her feelings for Asha.
(2) To defend himself from Leez who's calling him a weakling for being intolerant to the cold, Ran points out that the mage suit he's wearing was chosen by someone else. Even without it, he is perfectly capable of handling the cold.
Chapter 12: Lies for You
(2) Ran recalls a flashback to when Rana struggled with gluing together a klein's bottle. He felt like the solution was really obvious but she failed to see it.
(8) In a flashback, Ran recalls how Rana criticized him for using a certain skill in their magic exam. Apparently an emergency meeting was even called together to decide if their score will be accepted. Ran admits he only used it because he thought Rana would die and brags about having gotten the highest score ever. Rana tries to smack him and yells at him to never use it again since it might kill him.
Season 2
Chapter 28: Emergency
(2) During their trek through the desert en route to Eloth, Lutz smacks Ran in the head with a hoti Brahma-created ball, and states that Rana was right when she said that Ran only listens when you hit him.
Chapter 30: Falling Petals

(4) Not long before the magicians' conference begins in Aeroplateau, Rana appears before a crying Ran. They chat and joke around outside, until Rana mentions that she will soon have something that will stop her from aging. She also congratulates Ran on his graduation and his promotion to AA-rank. Ran then expresses worry over how the trial against Asha will go.
(5) Ran and Rana sit in the courtroom and hear out the accusations against Asha which include the fact that Asha killed multiple people named Kubera. Mirha tries to defend Asha's actions by stating that she prevented sura attacks by taking out their targets beforehand but Saha then brings up the argument that Asha murdered halfs.
(6) It is further revealed that Asha somehow increased her divine affinity by repeatedly killing and resurrecting halfs named Kubera via hoti visnu. Saha believes this could be tied to the broken name of god Kubera, which Surya informed him about in an oracle. And he concludes that Asha's actions are in no way excusable.
(7) The final decision is made and the vote declares that Asha is to be executed by hoti yama. Ran is taken aback and rushes to find Leez, leaving a confused Rana behind.
Chapter 31: Your Justice and Mine

(1) Rana uses hoti asvins to repair a balcony that Leez destroyed and Ran compliments her work. She then assures herself that Leez is alright and Ran invites her for dinner.
(5) Strange lightning fills the sky above the barrier as Aeroplateau starts moving. Ran and Rana watch as Ran complains that he was not informed about these plans. Rana tells him that she did not join the Rindhallow support force for fear that Ran would worry about her but she refuses to explain what she meant.
(6) Rana healed Leez after she got bitten by Yuta and she waited by Leez's bed until she woke up. She immediately asks Leez how she feels and finds fault with her relationship with Yuta. She attempts to advise Leez to stay away from him since she would die if she gets eaten here where her bracelet does not work. She emphasizes how much Ran worried about her and criticizes her recklessness.
Rana does not know where Yuta is, all she knows is that he disappeared right after taking Leez to Ran. Leez requests to learn hoti asvins from Rana, but Rana explains that the spell is extremely difficult, more so than other spells. Even Ran finds it problematic. Yuta's scarf modified by the hide of bondage tightens itself around Leez and Rana clarifies that this piece of clothing refuses to be separated from Leez.

(10) Ran comes to Rana searching for Leez and she explains that Mirha picked her up earlier. When Ran expresses overt worry about Leez's self-destructive tendencies, Rana is disappointed that Ran would focus on another girl instead of on her.
(11) Ran seems confused and Rana further inquires what is the deal with him and this Leez. Why did Ran take Leez to Asha's execution, but not Rana? Why did he spend the whole day with Leez and only went to get Rana to fix a broken railing? Ran even buys clothes and shoes for Leez! A crowd begins to gather around them, suspecting a lovers' quarrel.
Rana asks if Ran would not mind should she buy stuff for other men, but he fails to see the problem. Finally having enough of Ran's ignorance, Rana breaks into tears and turns away from the clueless dimwit.

She recalls a flashback in which Eline shows Rana an item that can slow down aging, and offers it to her with the following conditions: She must get Ran to graduate and get engaged to him. Eline used to wear the item but then chose to age with her husband.
Rana despairs that she will fail to achieve this and regrets letting Ran go to the water channel with Leez. Of course, the younger girl is more suitable for Ran. Suddenly, Ran hugs Rana from behind and asks her if she likes him. She admits that she has been in love with him for the last 18 years.
(12) In a series of flashbacks, Rana, already a professor, gives tutoring lessons to Ran. For free. She had won beauty contests in N7, N8, N9, she is a high ranked and skilled recovery magician with a well-paid position. She is seen as ideal marriage material, yet she had no boyfriends.

In the present, Rana is bothered by Ran's silence and urges him to give a response to her confession. When he starts by saying she should not like him, she hits his chin with her head and yells at him for leading her on by hugging her.
After another bout of jealousy for Leez, Ran whispers to her that Leez is Rao's daughter, explaining the misunderstanding and declaring that Rana is the only one who feels like a woman to him. They both realize that they were afraid to confess their feelings because they age at different rates, yet neither of them seems to mind. Rana reveals the terms of her deal with Eline.
Finally, Rana steps forth and asks Ran to marry her once the battle is over. Ran seems to be taken aback and hesitates with the response.
(13) People encourage Ran to answer already, but Ran seems embarrassed and asks Rana to go elsewhere with him and then he will answer. He picks her up into his arms and carries her off.
(15) Ran and Rana stand on a balcony and note that the barrier flashed signifying Agni's arrival. Ran starts talking about the neutral bow, but Rana yells at him for changing the topic. Ran blushes intensely, making Rana worry if she was too aggressive and drove him away.
Ran admits that he had given up on having a chance with Rana and he has trouble understanding what she likes about him. Ran starts blurting awkward things and taking back his words, prompting Rana to say she will call off the marriage and turn to leave.

Internally, she regrets having handled things so badly. Ran suddenly outruns her and bashes a crack into the wall before her in an effort to stop her from leaving. He confesses that he likes her too. He has liked her for the last 18 years. He is extremely happy and he is only so awkward because he is surprised and embarrassed.
When he is about to say he loves her, Rana smacks him and walks off. She thinks to herself that the sound of his voice is what made her stop in her tracks 18 years ago and hearing him whisper that he loves her would probably kill her.

(22) Sura attacks have been shaking the city. Once they suddenly stop, Ran and Rana teleport to Saha's room in the sky tower. They find the door open and inside a murdered Saha and an injured Lorraine. Rana uses hoti asvins on both of them. Lorraine gets up and refutes Ran's idea to freeze Saha by explaining that Saha's name is on the DNR list so hoti visnu would not work. Rana suggests that Ran takes the turrets in Saha's place.
Rana finds on the ground a letter from Saha stating that he paralyzed the sura attacking the city from above using Bhavati Surya. He speaks about his failure to summon Surya and asks that the gods and Kasak go kill the sura while it is immobilized. Laila would have already been informed that she is to attempt to summon Chandra. He apologizes to Lorraine for not keeping his promise.
Rana asks Lorraine who attacked Saha, but instead of an answer, Lorraine breaks down in tears.

(24) Ran dazes off into the distance as one of the turret towers falls. Rana brings him back to attention, comments on the fact that attacks have ceased and turrets are no longer firing, and asks what he sees. Ran had not even noticed and admits to being anxious because of Saha's death. He feels as if it was all a dream and curses at the person who did it.
Rana recalls a flashback of finding a bloodied young Ran crying for a certain person to wake up, apologizing, and wishing for it all to be just a dream.
She hugs Ran and tries to get him to think only of the good things and leave the bad thoughts aside. Despite being rattled herself, Rana admits to having no problems with vigor or calculations.
Ruche storms in and starts yelling like crazy, disturbing them both. She immediately starts suspecting Lorraine of being Asha's accomplice and aiding her escape. Ruche reveals that Asha was the one who killed Saha and destroyed a turret tower. Lorraine is no longer in the room where she was supposed to be waiting.
(26) God Chandra enters the turret tower and comments on Saha's demise. All the humans bow before him except for Ran. Rana quickly apologizes on his behalf and gets him to bow too. Chandra expresses surprise that Ran's kind of power is accepted in magic exams. He tells Ran that as long as he has sided with the inferior lifeforms, he will not question anything. Since Ran is not yet at the level to fight outside the city, he is to stay and protect it. No need to bow.
The people then bring up Brilith's poor condition. She got electrocuted by Asha along with Saha and Lorraine and she has trouble recovering. Chandra calls her pathetic. Ruche tries to take the initiative and suggests finding the murderer. Chandra realizes her need for recognition and claims she had failed to protect the most important thing.

(28) Powerful strikes begin to hit the barriers, turning the sky red. Since the turrets are not firing, Ruche and Rana deduce that the attacking sura must be in human form. Ruche had taken control of the turrets instead of Ran. Ran uses his hunter's eyes to spot the attacker but worries how to target them. Rana suggests the neutral bow, since she had heard of its power and the mess it did in Kalibloom.
Ran hesitates, claiming that unlike his brother, he cannot use the bow. More heavy attacks hit the barriers and Rana offers to fire the bow herself. Ran refuses her suggestion, takes the bow, and admits that he is able to use it, albeit not in his current state. Rana tries to stop him, she did not mean for him to go that far. A flash of light blinds her.

Ran had undone his hair, he seems to be slightly shining, odd marks appear on his face, and his teeth are suddenly pointy. He stretches the bow and takes a shot at the attacker outside.
(30) Ran returns to his normal state and Rana makes sure he is alright. Ruche compliments his good work. Just as she was saying that the attacks have stopped, more and even stronger attacks start hitting the barrier. Agni enters the room and tells Ran not to waste his lifespan.
Chapter 32: Loser
(7) Rana tells Ran that the impact of the transcendentals against the barrier has made buildings crumble which has resulted in damage in Rindhallow. As a recovery magician, she plans to go down there and help. Ran insists on coming with her but Rana refuses.
(8) As Rana and Airi help the injured among the rubble, Airi notes that there may still be some people trapped under a collapsed building. Rana decides to go inside to try to save them, despite Airi's warnings that the building might collapse even more. Airi goes take the rescued people up and promises to send down more magicians.

(9) Rana clears away some rubble with a hoti brahma sword. Though no one seems to be answering, her checklist said some people should be there. She realizes that she went in too far, another shockwave makes the walls crumble and threatens to bury her. A rock hits her head before she can cast magic but before she can fall, Ran pulls her in and shields her with his body. Rocks tumble around them and fall on Ran. He says that he followed her because he thought being by her side is the most important right now. After a bit of teasing, he admits that Agni took the bow from him and told him to go after Rana.
Now outside of the ruins, Ran comments on the strange lightning above Rindhallow, but all Rana and Airi can see is lightning common to Rindhallow. Airi relays that there are no more people in need of rescue and the checklist was wrong because of a mistake Lilia Shu made. Airi apologizes on Lilia's behalf. Rana finds it odd that Lilia would make such a mistake.
Ran says there is something above the lightning but Rana fails to see anything out of the ordinary and attributes it to having worse eyesight than Ran. Rana and Airi than discuss the fact that Chandra and Kasak had left to combat a sura high above and that is why they are not in the city.
Chapter 34: What Remains

(1) The suras' objectives had failed and everyone who found themselves in the epicenter was lost from existence and from memory. This includes Asha Rahiro and all that she has done.
Rana sits beside Ran and clutches her hat as Ruche teases about what the god class item Rana is wearing on her head could be and how embarrassing it must be to wear it.
Season 3
Chapter 35: Return

(2) Rana visits dean Eline Haias in the Magic Academy of the Mistyshore university, asking her to look after her children. Rana explains that she is tired of being on maternity leave and she wants to teach again, but she has no one else to ask to do the babysitting. Eline decides that if Ran agrees to become the priest of earth, then Huan can retire and babysit. Rana fears that convincing Ran will not be easy.

(4) Rana is sitting on Ran's bedside, waiting for him to wake up after he electrocuted himself while trying to save their children, Kan and Ten, from some mad suras all by himself. Once he regains consciousness, she hits him with some newspaper and criticizes him for his reckless use of magic. Moreover, Shess had been there, so had Ran been paying attention to his surroundings, Shess could have handled the situation.
Rana then asks Ran to sign a form according to which he will act as the priest of water until their youngest child, Rimi, enters Kindergarten. Rana explains that she is feeling resentment towards their fourth child for keeping her from returning to work. Ran agrees to the deal.
Chapter 37: Threat

(2) Kan and Ten are playing with their father until he surrenders and admits to being weak. Their mother tricks Ran to say that he was not actually playing properly and he can take much more, so both of them get back to tormenting him. Rana comments that he must make up for the months he was away and that this is still easier than playing with Rimi. Ran breaks free of the children upon receiving a confidential letter.
Chapter 41: Your Seven Years

(1) Rana heals her injured sons, insisting that they play more safely. They retort that a half started the fight by saying that mom and dad were sinning against their own parents. Though the boys do not understand the meaning, since the other halfs laughed, it must have been something bad.
As Rana tells them that it is a bunch of nonsense, her eldest child, Anne Sairofe, peeks into the room and complains that she cannot do her homework because Rimi made a mess in the room, and that recovery spells have no effect. Rana decides that it must be at its optimal state and tells her to leave it. Anne protests and says she needs to work on her assignment, so Rana tells her to do the homework in Eline Haias' lab and gives Anne some money for a gift for her great-aunt. Subsequently, Rana receives a letter from Kalibloom from Ran, and surprisedly exclaims what he is doing there.

(4) The letter Rana received detailed that Kasak Rajof and Leez Haias had returned from the sura realm. She lets Agwen read it and they both decide to go to Kalibloom together. Meanwhile, Rana's children will stay with Eline.
Chapter 45: Crime and Punishment

(8) Having taken part in an expedition to the planet Konchez, Ran falls under the influence of a mental transcendental and is trapped inside a dream calling back to the traumatic events of the Cataclysm.
Inside the dream, Ran is crying over the body of his dead mother when Rana suddenly approaches with a flashlight in her hand and asks if he is alright. Ran cries, asking if he really killed his mother, and saying that he is scared of himself. Rana tells him that she is not scared of him because this is only a dream, and advises him to fall asleep, that way he will be able to return to reality where he did nothing wrong.

When Ran wakes up, Maruna asks him about Rana and about the dream. Ran reveals that during the Cataclysm, he was attacked by his mother, lost consciousness, and was rescued by his brother who killed the mother. Yet in his dreams, he always sees the version where he himself killed their mother, which was why he went to a counselor who worked on convincing him otherwise. One thing strikes Ran as odd: the Rana in his dream addressed him differently than she did at that phase of his life.
Chapter 46: Soul
(1) When Rana and Agwen reached Kalibloom, Ran was already off on some expedition. Agwen bought a large amount of alcohol for Rana and brought it into the Temple of Earth to help her drink away her frustration. A drunk Rana hits the table and curses at Ran.
(9) After Brilith got targeted by a mysterious attack and saved by Agni, Agwen, Brilith, and Rana discuss the situation. Agwen wonders how the target could have escaped Agni's perception since it should not be possible. Rana suggests that Brilith should stay inside the barrier at all times to avoid attacks, and Agwen takes it even further, suggesting that Brilith keeps Agni around at all times. Brilith expresses discomfort at the idea.

Later, as Agwen and Rana walk outside of the temple, they discuss Brilith's discomfort with Agni, and how they find this difficult to understand. Rana suggests that Brilith has feelings for Agni, citing a conversation from five years back. Just then, Brilith appears via the Staff of Agni's teleportation skill, and corrects their assumptions. She tells Rana that five years was enough time for feelings to change, and compares Agwen being unable to understand Brilith's discomfort with Agni to being unable to understand Agwen's discomfort with Kasak. Before she leaves, she tells Agwen that since she came to Kalibloom to see her father, Agwen should not be wasting her time gossiping about others.
Rana apologizes to Agwen, stating that even though Brilith had changed since learning how to use the Staff of Agni, she is sure Brilith did not mean her words. Agwen admits Brilith was not wrong and then asks Rana about Ran.
Chapter 47: Words That Never Reached You

(1) In a meeting with Brilith, Mirha, and Rana, Leez insists that it must have been Asha who attacked Brilith. Mirha theorizes that it is possible with Asha's vajra, the power she stole from Saha, and her high divine affinity. Rana is perplexed over the revelations about the situation with the Kubera name, and Asha's ability to steal their power; when told a god gave Asha the ability to steal this power, she concludes that it must have been Kali, and the other gods are probably protecting them from her.
(3) Inexplicably, Shess had taken sura form and caused havoc at the Temple of Earth. Kasak took sura form to hold him off.
A group of magicians is observing the fight from a distance. Rana assists the evacuation and Mirha and Brilith discuss what is happening, while Leez stands quietly alongside. Rana says that Shess must definitely be under the effect of a mental transcendental and when Brilith asks if there is someone who could calm him down, Rana brings up Leny, who is staying at her house in Mistyshore. Brilith teleports to go get her. Mirha and Rana comment about how much Brilith has changed.
One of them notices that a person is making his way towards the fight and recognize him as the half that was captured by the gods. Mirha and Leez decide to go catch him. As Rana stays behind, she suddenly gets an inexplicable bad feeling.
(7) Chandra arrived and knocked out Shess, which allowed Kasak to rest. Rana tells Agwen that she treated all of her father's injuries but he will remain asleep for a while. Rana notices his new earrings, and Agwen explains that they are an item that allows him to fight dragon nastikas in his dreams. Someone calls Rana off, saying that Ran has arrived.

(9) Rana wants an explanation from Ran for leaving for Konchez without her knowledge. All he can say is that it has been such a long time since he last saw her and then he begins to cry. Leez runs up to them, expressing relief that Ran has returned. Ran reveals that Yuta stayed behind and apologizes to Leez for what happened concerning Maruna. He implies that Maruna has developed to fifth stage is now watching Willarv from somewhere above.
(10) Ran retells that after Leez had left, Yuta remembered none of what happened. Upon learning that his mother sent Leez back in time, Yuta quickly realized that this universe has been abandoned and will soon collapse. He sent Ran and Maruna to the Willarv that Leez has returned to through a place beyond time as there was not enough energy in the machine for a more direct route.
When Mirha begins to talk to Leez, Rana pulls Ran aside. He tells her that this all must sound odd to her, but she replies that it is not, realizing that he arrived from the future. Ran admits that he is having trouble understanding how Leez made the past reality and that the future that was supposed to happen became just a possibility, but Rana seems to have a better grasp on the idea and says that she needs to give it more thought.
(17) Leez had given her boots to Rana to ensure that Chandra, who was being suspicious of her, does not take them. Rana passed on the boots to Agwen who then returned them to Leez.
Chapter 48: Separation

(17) Inside the Temple of Earth, Rana studies materials about time-travel, drawing from the knowledge she gained when she was on Taitalika. She explains that the past and future body merge, in other words, instead of existing separately, both consciousnesses inhabit the same body. If the time difference between the two consciousnesses is not too large, the merged personality should be stable. But Rana remains confused why Ran acted as though he had not seen her for a long time although the time he spent on Konchez was short. Just as she was about to go visit Ran and ask, she gets summoned to the barrier stone room.
(21) Meanwhile, Kalibloom got attacked and Laila Hemawati and Teo Rakan had a fight. Rana attempts to heal Teo with resurrection magic but fails. (26) Outside the temple, Ran and Shess got stomped to the ground by Chatan. Ran was about to take partial sura form and fight seriously but stopped when Rana interrupted him. She voices surprise that Ran's injuries are gone and is asked to see to Shess.
Chapter 49: The Golden Knight 2

(6) The attack now over, Ruche and Rana are giving Laila a status report. They inform her that Kalibloom is practically undamaged because the barrier never broke, they tell her that Atera is in ruins and also that there was an explosion at the Prison for magic criminals in Aeroplateau.
In her thoughts, Rana fears that she will not be able to look Brilith in the eye knowing that Agni prioritized protecting their children in Mistyshore while letting Atera fall. Ruche continues by speaking about how to deal with the rumor that Chandra attacked Atera and asks Laila if she has any news of him. Instead of answering, Laila asks for the cloak that Ran borrowed when going to Konchez, claiming that it is Chandra's item and the god asked for it.
Rana enters Ran's room to ask him for the cloak, only to find him sleeping. She takes the cloak, then makes sure that Shess is alright and admits that healing him with hoti asvins was far more difficult than healing a human would be. Shess thanks her and Rana leaves.
Special Episode 2 - Terms of affection

(1) In the 11th month of the year N7, Rana and Lutz are relaxing on a beach in Mistyshore while Ran is out swimming, and they discuss things entirely unrelated to academics, politics, or romance. Wondering if brothers might have similar preferences, Rana asks Lutz what kind of girls he likes. The description Lutz gives mostly matches Rana, what with being smart and a teacher, except for the fact that Lutz's perfect lady is supposed to have soft ears that perk up when surprised.
Rana reads a book which states that it is common for Yaksha halfs and quarters to be attracted to body parts resembling Yakshas, and that this preference is hereditary. Just as Rana realizes that even if Ran felt that way, his current phobia of halfs would have changed his approach, Ran runs to her, asking her to save him from a group of halfs. The onlookers mock him for this behavior.
In the 5th month of N16 when Rana just got alerted that Leez has awoken, Ran comes running, fearful of a group of nearby halfs, and hugs Rana. Once Rana points out that the halfs are gone, Ran self-deprecates himself for letting his fear influence his life so strongly. Rana assures him that all is well and Ran gives her a kiss on the cheek. This flusters Rana strongly because she worries what the people who are watching may think. Ran teases her and Rana shoos him away.

Mirha delivers a box that arrived for Rana from Eline. Rana and Ran then discuss the contents - an item which prevents aging. Ran warns Rana about the inconvenience of being unable to take off the item at any time and assures her that he does not mind if she ages more quickly than him, but Rana worries about the opinions of other people.
When she opens the box and witnesses the item, she begins to reconsider. Seeing the item, Ran blushes intensely and gets a nosebleed - the item is a headband with pink kitty ears. It would seem that the book was correct that Yaksha quarters are drawn to body parts resemblant of Yakshas.
Ran wonders about what Eline must have looked like in those kitty ears since he cannot even imagine this considering her serious personality. Apparently she got rid of all the photos from before she got married.
Rana considers that aging together naturally must be nice and she can understand the choice Eline made when she stopped wearing the item. However, achieving the same would be difficult for her and Ran because they age differently. When Ran asks what is on her mind, she tells him to find a way to age faster.
Special Episode 8 - The South Pole Expedition
(1) Ran got tempted by travel pamphlets praising the memorability of the south pole and he and Rana spent their honeymoon in this region. Rana was in a bad mood the whole time and they were very cold, making for some extremely bad, albeit admittedly memorable, experience. Although they have been traveling to all of Willarv's most attractive destinations in the following years to make up for the flop, the memory of the south pole remains the strongest.
