Stamp On It is the first mini album by GOT the beat. It was released on January 16, 2023 with "Stamp On It" serving as the album's title track.

The physical album is available in two versions: Stamp and Beat.

Background

On December 23, 2022, Sport TV News reported that GOT the beat would be having their first comeback set to be released sometime in January 2023. A couple of hours later, SM Entertainment confirmed the reports.^[1] On December 29, it was confirmed that they will be releasing their first mini album, Stamp On It, on January 16, 2023.^[2] The album consists a total of six dance tracks and that unit is expected to hold a stage for one of their new songs on SMTOWN Live 2023 : SMCU Palace@Kwangya on January 1, 2023.^[3] On January 2, 2023, a schedule poster was posted which revealed which/when photos/videos will be released.^[4]

Composition

"Alter Ego" is described as a dance genre song. There are different bass riffs added to the the break beat. The lyrics talk about the severity of environmental issues and how it stems from our actions and choices. In order for change to happen we must wake ourselves up.^[5]

"Goddess Level" is described as a powerful dance genre song. The song has a rhythmical brass sound and a heavy trap beat. The lyrics talk about having self-confidence because the goddess is within you.^[6] "Mala" is described as a hybrid pop genre song. The song has a strange harmony with the sound of a flute added to the 808 base. The lyrics talk about loving yourself for who you are and enjoying the moment without any worries.^[6]

"Rose" is described as an R&B hip hop genre song. The song unfolds in many different ways. It starts with vocal chop sounds and minimal beats. The combination of the lyrics and the chic vocals that compare beauty that can't be surpassed to the sharp thorns of roses.^[7] "Outlaw" is described as a dance genre song. The song has a dynamic base pumping that's combined with synthesizer layering. It also features low and explosive high-pitched vocals which help maximize the rough atmosphere of the song. The lyrics talk about feeling like an outlaw.^[7]

Promotions

"Stamp On It" was performed for the first time prior to release at SMTOWN Live 2023 : SMCU Palace@Kwangya on January 1, 2023.^[8] GOT the beat will be performing "Stamp On It" at M Countdown on January 19.^[9]

Commercial performance

Circle Chart reported that Stamp On It sold 108,796 copies during the week of January 15 to January 21.^[10] In the monthly update for January, Circle Chart reported that Stamp On It sold 164,433 copies during the month.^[11]
