On February 24, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that Seo In Guk will enlist on March 28.[3] However, on March 31, he was send back home due to an osteochondral lesion on his left ankle.[4] He received a medical reevaluation at the Seoul Regional Military Manpower Administration office on April 27[5] and a complementary reexamination on June 5 at the Central Physical Examination Center of Military Manpower Administration for a more thorough checkup.[6] On June 14, Jellyfish Entertainment released an official statement explaining that the results of this checkup diagnosed Seo In Guk with osteochondritis dissecans in his left anklebone, resulting in a grade five health ranking that would exempt him from his military duties.[7]
