Saena (ablume)

Saena (새나) is a South Korean singer, dancer, and rapper under Massive E&C. She is the leader of the pre-debut girl group ablume and former leader of the girl group FIFTY FIFTY.

She is also known for being a contestant in Dancing High.

Career

2018: Dancing High

In September 2018, Saena, then known by her real name, Jung Sehyun, was revealed as a contestant in KBS2 TV's dancing variety show, Dancing High.^[1] She was on 'Team Hoya', which didn't win the competition.^[2]

2022–2023: FIFTY FIFTY, departure and lawsuit against ATTRAKT

On November 14, 2022, Saena was introduced as a member of FIFTY FIFTY through the group's music video for their pre-release song "Lovin' Me".^[3] The next day, she was individually revealed.^[4]

FIFTY FIFTY officially debuted on November 18 with their first mini album, titled The Fifty.^[5]^[6]

On August 17, 2023, FIFTY FIFTY's legal representative, the law firm Barun, announced that the group filed a criminal complaint against ATTRAKT CEO Jeon Hong Joon for "violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (breach of trust)."^[7] On October 23, it was announced that ATTRAKT has terminated their exclusive contracts with members Saena, Sio and Aran as of October 19.^[8] The first trial will be held on August 29, 2024.^[9]

2024: New agency, ablume

On August 11, 2024, it has been reported that Saena, along with the two other former FIFTY FIFTY members, Sio and Aran, have signed with Massive E&C, a newly-launched subsidiary of IOK Company. Their activities as a new "global" idol group would begin at the second half of the year. ^[10]

On October 15, it was revealed that they would make their debut as a trio, under the name ablume.^[11]

On December 19, it was reported that the group has the goal to debut in the first half of 2025.^[12]
