Miyeon (Korean: 미연; Japanese: ミヨン) is a South Korean singer, model, actress and MC under Cube Entertainment. She is the main vocalist of the girl group (G)I-DLE. She was also apart of the pre-debut team Pink Punk.

She made her solo debut on April 27, 2022 with the mini album My.

Career

Pre-debut

In 2010, Miyeon became a YG Entertainment trainee. She was supposed to debut as a member of BLACKPINK's final lineup, however, suddenly left the company in 2015. She said that she left the company because her debut was always postponed, and she gave up waiting.

2017-2018: Debut with (G)I-DLE

In early 2017, she joined Cube and later started training with (G)I-Idle. On April 8, 2018, Miyeon was revealed as the second member of (G)I-DLE.^[1] The group officially debuted on May 2 with their first mini album I Am.

2020–2021: King of Mask Singer, Replay

On March 1, Miyeon appeared on the show King of Mask Singer. As the masked singer 'Boiled Egg', she sang "Good Bye Sadness, Hello Happiness", by Yoon Mi Rae. It was her very first solo activity, and though she was nervous, she was able to showcase her mature voice.^[2]

In September 2020, it was announced that Miyeon would make her acting debut in the web drama Replay, where she was cast as the lead alongside SF9's Hwi Young.^[3] The series is set to start airing in January 2021.^[4]

In February 2021, she joined M Countdown's MC lineup. Her first broadcast as an MC was on February 18.^[5]

2022: Solo debut with My, first win

On April 6, Newsen reported that Miyeon will be making her solo debut later in the month. Hours later, Cube confirmed the report.^[6] Two days later, it was announced that Miyeon will be making her solo debut with her first mini album, My, on April 27, 2022.^[7] "Drive", the album's title track, won first place on The Show on May 3rd, awarding Miyeon her first solo music show win.^[8]

On August 1, 2023, Vogue Korea revealed that Miyeon had been appointed as the global brand ambassador for Jimmy Choo.^[15] On September 4, 2023, Sunyang Soju announced that they have selected Miyeon as the brand's newest model.^[16] On March 12, 2024, Miyeon was announced as the model for CJ Olive Young's makeup brand WAKEMAKE.^[17]
