Kim Kook Heon

Kim Kook Heon (김국헌), also known as simply Kook Heon and formerly as Xi Heon (시헌), is a South Korean singer and lyricist. He was one half of the duo B.O.Y and a former member of the boy group MYTEEN.

He made his solo debut on August 9, 2020 with his first digital single "Dry Flower".

He is also known for being a contestant on the survival shows MIXNINE, Produce X 101 and Kookmin Singer.

Career

2017–2018: MYTEEN debut, MIXNINE

On July 26, 2017, Kook Heon debuted as the leader of the boy group MYTEEN with their debut mini album MYTEEN Go!.

Later in October, he participated in the JTBC's reality show, MIXNINE. Unfortunately in the final episode, which aired on January 26, 2018, he was eliminated from the final lineup.

2019–2021: Produce X 101, MYTEEN's disbandment, B.O.Y debut

In May 2019, Kook Heon participated in his second survival show, Produce X 101. He was eliminated in episode 11 and with his final rank being 21st place.[1]

On August 21, fellow MYTEEN member Eun Su shared on his Instagram account that the group had disbanded, which was later confirmed by their agency.[2]

On August 24, Kook Heon and fellow former MYTEEN member Song Yu Vin released the digital single "Blurry" together which was published under the name 'Kim Kook Heon x Song Yu Vin'. However, the two later officially debuted as a duo under the artist name of B.O.Y on January 7, 2020 with the release of their first mini album, Phase One : You.

2020–2021: Solo debut, B.O.Y's disbandment, Kookmin Singer

On August 9, 2020, Kook Heon made his debut as a soloist with his first digital single "Dry Flower".

Unfortunately, on April 30, 2021, The Music Works Entertainment announced the disbandment of the duo B.O.Y.[3] At which point, Kook Heon and Yu Vin went their separate ways.

A couple of months later in October, Kook Heon joined his third survival show, Kookmin Singer. He was eventually eliminated but finished within the 'Top 111' ranks (ranks after 40 for individuals were not assigned).[citation needed]

On November 15, Kook Heon posted his first YouTube video on his channel, which was a cover of the song "Look At Me" by George.[4]

2022: Venture into Thai pop

On May 4, 2022, Kook Heon took part in the collaborative release of the Thai pop digital single "Cloud9" which featured him along with Thai singers Kangsomks, Noel, Danniel. The release of "Cloud9" marks his beginnings in Thai pop.
