Hongbin

Hongbin (홍빈) is a South Korean streamer and former singer and actor. He is a former member of the boy group VIXX.

Career

2012-2020: VIXX

He debuted as a member of VIXX with the release of with the release of their first single album, "Super Hero", on May 24, 2012.

During a Twitch live stream broadcast on February 29, 2020, Hongbin, who was drinking at the time, made controversial comments towards other idol groups. The following day, Hongbin and his agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, posted official apologies for his behavior.[1]

On August 7, 2020, Jellyfish announced Hongbin's departure from VIXX.[2] That same day, Hongbin also confirmed that he had left the agency and the entertainment industry after his contract had been terminated.[3]

Personal life

Military service

On August 18, 2020, Hongbin enlisted in the military for his mandatory service.[4] He was discharged on February 25, 2022, following the COVID-19 protocol.[5] He served as an active duty soldier.

As of March 2022, after his discharge from the military, he is currently active as a Twitch streamer.[6]
