Liu Xian (onyomi: Ryū Ken) is Liu Du's fictional son who initially opposed Liu Bei. After his life was spared, he convinced his father to join Shu.
Role in Games
He appears for the first time in Dynasty Warriors 4 as a sub-officer of Liu Du and fights outside of Ling Ling.
Dynasty Warriors 7 has him reappear again for the first time since the fourth title. He appears as an enemy officer in Wei's second part of the Battle of Fan Castle. There, he is one of the officers who defend the eastern castle of Jiangling and later fight the defector Mi Fang.
In Dynasty Warriors 8, he again appears at Fan Castle, fighting against Yu Jin in Wei's version. He further appears at Mt. Xingshi in Jin's story as an enemy officer.
Liu Xian also appears in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games as an officer serving under his father and Shu. He is given mediocre stats that range mostly in the 50's, with his war stat being in the mid 60's and also his highest stat. He can hold his own against most of the enemy generals who serve the other lords in southern Jing.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Liu Xian appears in chapter 52 in the novel as Liu Du's son. He was very self-confident and proposed to face Liu Bei's army led by Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei together with Xing Daorong. They camped with 10.000 men ten miles away from the city when Zhuge Liang's troops approached them. Xing Daorong rode out to fight them, but he was defeated and captured. He was released on the pretext of capturing Liu Xian, however, he did not capture him upon his return but devised a plan to defeat Zhuge Liang with him instead. They both tried to ambush Liu Bei's troops, but the ambush failed in the end. Xing Daorong was killed and Liu Xian himself was captured. Zhuge Liang ordered him to return to Lingling and persuade Liu Du to surrender, otherwise the citizens would be executed and the city destroyed upon its capture. Liu Xian returned and told his father of it. Liu Du then surrendered and was appointed as Administrator of Liuren. Liu Xian went to serve Shu's army in Jing.
