Also known as "Henry of Monmouth". |
Henry V, who goes by the nickname 'Hal', is one of the kings who ruled during the latter half of the Hundred Years' War. He rose to political prominence during his childhood when his father usurped Richard II. He took part in the subjugation of Henry Percy's revolt and ordered several campaigns in France when he inherited the throne.
Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War calls him Hal (ハル) throughout the script as a reference to his portrayal in William Shakespeare's play, Henry IV.
Role in Game
He is a mercenary employed by England.
Bladestorm: Nightmare
In Bladestorm: Nightmare, Hal and Marie lead a band of mercenaries and knights to protect Gascony from being overrun by monsters, though they are on the verge of losing until Magnus and the player arrive with monster units of their own. Despite their aid, the two captains refuse to trust them at first until Gilles de Rais and La Hire vouch for them.
After Hal reunites with the other English officers, he joins the battle against the possessed maid in Champagne. Even with dragons brought by the player, the conflict proves too much for their battered forces. To protect the others, Hal covers for their escape by launching a lone assault on the monsters, eventually costing him his life. Although Hal's death is unavoidable, he may convince Richard to live on his behalf if the two clashed repeatedly at Île-de-France.
If the player has recruited every other character throughout the story, they will receive encouragement from Hal's spirit in the fifth gate of Castellum Sepulchrum.
