The Zap Weapon is an item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Fighters 2.

Physical Appearance

The Zap Weapon is a large snow globe-esque dome fixed to a square base with black and yellow caution tape around its perimeter. The dome contains both a Plugg enemy and an electrical outlet above him. The glass sphere is topped with an antenna.

The Zap Weapon is heavy; when it lands on the stage, it can barely be moved. To use it, Kirby must hit it several times. With each strong move or volley of weak moves, the Plugg inside the globe reacts and the antenna begins sparking. Once the antenna reaches its third level of charge, Plugg briefly plugs himself into his outlet, causing the antenna to produce a large ball of electricity. The ball of electricity has a different color depending on who it belongs to; it's pink for Player 1, yellow for Player 2, blue for Player 3, green for Player 4, and purple for Shadow Kirby.

Once produced, the energy ball launches at an opponent. It has homing properties, though this loosens after traveling a certain distance. It deals great damage and knockback on impact. The Zap Weapon can fire four projectiles before disappearing.

Trivia

  • The Zap Weapon cannot appear in Single-Handed Mode.
  • The Zap Weapon is the only item that cannot be destroyed by magma.
