Hokuto (北都) is the north eastern region of Japan in the World of Build, created as a result of the Sky Wall, and is led by Prime Minister Yoshiko Tajimi. The capital's crest is a chrysanthemum, with the leaves stylized to resemble a pair of hands reaching out and giving the flower. Hokuto consists of Hokkaido and northern Honshu.
Following the Sky Wall Tragedy, most of its farmland was rendered infertile. Its system of governing and political goals are based on social welfare, such as introducing childcare and agricultural programs, putting the needs of its people above all else.
Hokuto is also infamously known for a strict immigration policy to keep smugglers out and its own people within its borders. The citizens of Hokuto are very poor due to the economic collapse, even unable to send their children to school because of the cost, so free volunteer schooling has been established in certain areas so that kids can learn to read, write and do basic math. History
Formation
In 2008, the INSET exploration vessel Prominence returned from Mars to Earth, carrying astronaut Soichi Isurugi and an artifact he found on the planet, the Pandora Box. What was not known then, however, was that Isurugi had been possessed by an alien entity named Evolto while on Mars.
To commemorate his return, a ceremony was held in Japan with numerous dignitaries in attendance. However, calamity struck when Isurugi, compelled by Evolto, attempted to activate the Pandora Box as it was presented. Though he was soon restrained by security, this interference caused the erection of the immense Sky Wall, which split the island nation of Japan into three.
While many lives were lost in what would become known as the Sky Wall Tragedy, others who were exposed to the light of the Pandora Box found their minds warped to crave power. Among the afflicted was Yoshiko Tajimi, who would establish herself as Prime Minister of Hokuto, one of three now separate nations created by the Sky Wall Tragedy. Also sharing her condition were Masakuni Mido, who became Prime Minister of Seito, and Gentoku Himuro, who would become Deputy Prime Minister of Touto; the elder Prime Minister Taizan Himuro had not attended the event and so retained his mental faculties.
Post-war
Following the War, the governor of Hokuto was Ryoka Saiga of the Blood Tribe. [Kamen Rider Build: Be The One]
