In the World of Build, the Prominence was a Japanese expedition and research ship responsible for the discovery of the Pandora Box and it's return to Earth. The ship was developed by the Institute of Space Engineering Technology as part of the Kiwami Project for the purpose of a manned mission to Mars, all headed by Shinobu Katsuragi, who had recruited four men and women to participate in this mission, namely: Soichi Isurugi, Kengo Ino, Mitsuomi Gobara, and Ryoka Saiga. The ship left Earth sometime in early 2006 (given the fact the fastest time from the shortest distance to reach Mars from Earth is eight months) and arrived on the red planet at some point in 2007.
Upon deploying its lander and the crew arriving and surveying the Martian surface and caves, Soichi Isurugi famously discovered an alien artifact which would later be dubbed the Pandora Box. After the mission ended, the Prominence returned to Earth and returned the astronauts home to Japan in late 2007. Shinobu celebrated the crew's historic find with a press conference. However, this conference and the Pandora Box being there on display would lead to the events of the Sky Wall Tragedy. [That One with the Best Match]
