Baslam (バスラム) is a merchant from Altago who went missing about 10 years before the start of Ys VI in search for trade. He was actually caught in the Great Vortex and founded Port Rimorge. He was mentioned briefly in Ys Seven when an assistant of Zanzibar boasted how Baslam used to be a competitor until Baslam went missing.
He wants to develop Port Rimorge into a more developed town and promotes deforestation and the destruction of the nearby Rehdan ruins for construction materials. Because of this, the relationship between the Rehda and the Eresians became tense.
