Chapter 419

"The Entrapped Brothers" is the 419th chapter of the InuYasha manga.

Synopsis

With their combined power, twins Kinka and Ginka attempt to kill Mōryōmaru, however it's a trap, and Mōryōmaru fatally wounds both Kinka and Ginka.

Summary

Inuyasha damns Naraku, wondering why the Saimyōshō are protecting Mōryōmaru. He thinks to himself he believed Naraku sicced Nikosen on him and strengthened Tessaiga so he would defeat Mōryōmaru for him. But now, he's trying to strengthen Mōryōmaru's armor, too, so what is he really after? Mōryōmaru thinks to himself Naraku is too clever, having Kanna fake a rebellion to gain his trust. He deduces Naraku intends to strengthen Inuyasha's blade, and Mōryōmaru's armor, then pit them against one another so they both become wounded in the ensuing battle. He thinks to himself that he'll play along. Meanwhile, Miroku shouts at Kinka & Ginka to run away, and warns them Mōryōmaru plans to absorb them and take the blood that binds them together in order to power up his armored shell. Inuyasha fires his Kongōsōha at Mōryōmaru, but they prove useless against his shell, however they do strike his wings, weighing him down. Mōryōmaru's tentacles wrap around Kinka and Ginka, but the pair expel fire and lightning from their bodies, each brother saying that only he will slay the other, and won't let Mōryōmaru interfere. They say no matter what armor he has on the outside, their fire and lightning will destroy him from the inside out. Kagome wonders if that means Naraku's heart will be destroyed then. Mōryōmaru looks to be finished, shocked and burning from the demon brother's powers.

Mōryōmaru's tentacles around Kinka are destroyed, but Inuyasha doesn't think this means Mōryōmaru is dead. Seeing his brother Ginka is still trapped, Kinka takes the opportunity to kill his trapped brother, impaling him with his spear. Inuyasha shouts at them that it's a trap, but it's too late. Mōryōmaru's diamond arm then comes out and impales Kinka, killing him, leaving Ginka fatally wounded. Inuyasha tries to attack Mōryōmaru with Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga, but the attack fails. Mōryōmaru laughs that all he had to do was trap one demon and other would fall into his trap. He teases the brothers wanted to be apart so badly, but now they will be together inside his armored body. Inuyasha sees that Ginka is still alive, and cuts off Mōryōmaru's tentacles, attempting to save him.
