The Liberator-medal is earned for capturing Portals.
Mechanics
This Medal ticks up when an Agent claims a neutral Portal by deploying a single Resonator 
on it. The level of the Resonator being deployed does not matter.
Using a Flip Card (an ADA Refactor 
or a JARVIS Virus 
) does not count toward this medal.
Strategy
Achieving the Onyx (Black) variant of this medal will need plenty of planning, mapping and travelling. The Agent needs to know they may need to venture outside of their city, or into a more urban area. Urban areas are typically Portal-dense, and make it easier to achieve this medal, however it can also be an active ground for other Agents.
Using Ingress Intel, Agents can:
- see which Portals are uncaptured.
- find Enemy Portals and neutralize them to capture them.
- find weak Portals that will decay, so once they arrive, they are neutral.
This medal can be earned in conjunction with other medals:
- Builder (by deploying many Resonators )
- Pioneer (by capturing unique Portals)
- Engineer (by deploying many Portal Modifiers)
- Purifier (by destroying enemy Resonators )
