Talonreach is a ruin of the Old Ones in Horizon Call of the Mountain.
Description
The ruins of a military base, Talonreach had a hanger for drone aircraft and vehicles along with a landing pad and tower. Many rusted hulks of Corruptors and Deathbringers can be seen outside and inside the facility. Some Scrappers and Glinthawks have also made their way inside the ruins for salvaging.
Ballistas and Oseram gear can be found inside as well.
History
Old World
In the time of the Old Ones, the base had evidently been overrun by the Faro Plague given the number of Chariot machines found inside.
New World
Asera and her followers made camp in Talonreach and conducted experiments with machine lures. They eventually discovered they could use the satellite dishes there to amplify the signal from a lure, causing many machines to be called into the valley below.
Urid later came across the ruins after pursuing a Thunderjaw. He set up a smoke signal and left a Hunter's Mark informing Ryas or anyone who followed him of his next destination.
After summiting the Sunspear, Ryas followed Urid's trail into the ruins and was chased by the Thunderjaw. Although he was able to evade it or force it to retreat, Ryas eventually destroyed the Thunderjaw on Talonreach's landing pad. Climbing to the top of the control tower, Ryas discovered a machine lure attached to the satellite dish and disabled it. He eventually came back to the ruins to recover a transmitter case from another tower.
