Shael is a character in Horizon Forbidden West.
History
A member of the Utaru Chorus, Shael is less of a traditionalist than her colleague Fane, although the politics of her position limits the range of her actions. While she was seen nodding in agreement with Fane that the Utaru weakening and dying is the natural order,[1] she later revealed that she wanted to side with Zo and Aloy, but felt unable to disagree with Fane publicly.[2]
While the tribe is traditionally vegan, Shael saw it necessary to supplement Plainsong's food supply with hunting animals in order to compensate for the crops spoiled by the Red Blight. However, when a routine hunt goes awry after a Clawstrider slaughters most of the hunting party, she was forced to temporarily cease the hunts despite the protests of her fellow Utaru. She hires Aloy to retrieve the hunters' seed pouches, who simultaneously also removes the threat of the machines.[3]
