Gunnar is a character on the Netflix series Hoops. He is the son of Tina Fitzsimmons and was believed briefly to have been the illegitimate child of Ben Hopkins.
He is voiced by the co-creator of Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites, Justin Roiland.
Appearance
Gunnar is an eleven year old boy. He has brown wavy hair, fair skin. He also appears to have a certain physical resemblance to Ben Hopkins, even having similar eyebrows.
Character
His behavior is lot like Ben Hopkins's behavior: loud, condescending, rude and foul-mouthed. He also smokes cigarettes despite still being a child.
History
He has lived his with only his mother from birth and has grown into a very foul-mouthed young boy. His mother told him that his father is an astronaut doing business on the moon. He is verbally abusive to his mother, even shouting profanities at her in the presence of other people.
Plot summary
Ron, Shannon and Kirk get tired of Ben Hopkins lying to them all the time. They therefore start following a woman named Tina, who Ben claimed to them he once had sex with, and discover Gunnar. They are shocked to find that Hopkins has a child that he apparently doesn't know about. However, when they confront Hopkins with Gunnar, Hopkins admits that he never actually had sex with Tina and they are delighted to catch him in a lie.
Later, Gunnar is one of many people that Hopkins flips off as he readies himself to leave the town of Lenwood to become an assistant coach at Henderson Prep.
