Genki Ono (
History
He first drew manga when he was in sixth grade and would put them in his locker at school to show to his friends.
While in high school, he wrote Koi ni Sake Mikoto, which won an honorable mention in the 52nd Jump Treasure Newcomer Manga Award in 2011. He dropped out of university after one year to focus on manga.
Ono, who loves Chinese aesthetics and the sense of middle school, thought that table tennis movements were similar to kung fu. In 2017, he began serializing the table tennis manga Full Drive in WSJ #47, 2017, and ended in WSJ #12, 2018.
During his career he was assistant to Takamasa Moe in Ole Golazo,[1] Kenta Shinohara in Witch Watch and Kouji Miura in Blue Box.[2]
In July 8, 2024, he began serializing the romantic comedy Hima-Ten! in WSJ #32, 2024.
