Ultraman Arc, also known by his real name Rution is the titular main protagonist of the Tokusatsu series of the same name. He is the image of the “strongest hero” created by the imagination of his human host Yuma Hize after fusing with him.
History
Pre-Ultraman Arc
Prior to visiting earth, his people’s star systems was suffering from the threat of destruction due to the expansion of their sun, Sonia. Each of the leaders all joined together to discuss a plan to stop this, with one of them suggesting the Ze Su Gate, a wormhole that would channel Sonia's excess energy into other galaxies. The only problem with this was that one of the discharges would hit Earth. While the majority were against it, Ze Su wasn’t and went on to activate it anyway which forced the leaders to send Rution to seal it and save Earth.
While traveling to Earth, he was attacked by Monogelos, a monster who was sent by Ze Su to stop him. Although Rution was able to seal the gate, he was still being attacked by Monogelos, causing the both of them to crash on Earth. During the battle, a young Yuma’s parents were killed in the process, with only Yuma surviving due to Rution saving them. Despite managing to defeat Monogelos, seal the gate and save Yuma, his failure to save the boy’s parents haunted him and left him riddled with guilt. Additionally, because of his battle, sealing the gate, and merging with Yuma, he had lost all of his energy and was forced to lay dormant for the next sixteen years.
Ultraman Arc
Yuma, now an adult, eventually went on to join an investigation team named SKIP. As a result of Yuma’s imagination, Rution was able to become his idea of the “strongest hero” and protect Earth from monsters.
