Ultraman Z (Pronounced Zett) is the latest New-Gen Ultra to be added to the franchise. He is Ultraman Zero's 'disciple' and Ultraman Ace's godson.
Z is described as hot-blooded and a young warrior that takes Ultraman Zero as his inspiration. Zero quotes that he is "half or maybe 1/3rd" of a fully-fledged hero, which often hurts his feelings, but nonetheless, is a courageous youth with a lot of potential. He also tends to use the word "Ultra" as a prefix to adjectives and is unaccustomed to Earth's culture, thus creating his humorous side.
Concept
Design/Appearance
Z's base form is a simplified version of his Alpha Edge form. Despite this, his color code marks him as the second primarily blue ultra to have his own series and the first to have natural black markings as a resident of the Land of Light. He sports a Z-shaped color timer that functions as any other normal color timer, thus making him the 4th ultra whose color timer is modeled after an english letter (The first being Victory (V-shaped color timer), second being X (X-shaped color timer), third being Orb (O-shaped color timer)). He has a head crest that is similar to Ace's head crest and inherits the Ultra Hole trait (the 4 holes on his crest). He also sports some armaments on his shoulders and chest.
It is revealed that Z's current forms, Alpha Edge, Beta Smash, Gamma Future and Delta Rise Claw were all represented by the era of the ultras.
Due to his merging with Haruki, Z grants his human host access by giving him the Ultra Access Card and the Z Riser, alongside with a small box containing 18 ultra-medals. Below are the following in which he can transform into.
Haruki simply sets his access card into the Z Riser before sliding the blade across the card (The method of scanning) and pressing the trigger. In this form, Z can take control of Haruki's body to fight human-sized threats/enemies, but can only remain 50 seconds before deformation. Despite the inability to fight in his normal size, he can degrade into his original form if he sustains too much damage. In this form, Z can barely win a fight against a kaiju, but is shown to defeat Destrudos, despite his critical condition.
This form consists of the combination of Zero, Seven and Leo to transform. This is Z's very first form and debuts in episode 1. This form is considered as a martial arts-type (Inherits Space Martial Arts from his master). It also exclusively grants Z superhuman senses.
