Rika Kawai is one of the three deuteragonists of Wonder Egg Priority, alongside Neiru Aonuma and Momoe Sawaki. She is a former idol who protects Wonder Eggs in order to see her former fan when she was an Idol in the group All-Out Kiss, Chiemi.
She was voiced by Shuka Saitō in Japanese and Anairis Quinones in English.
Appearance
Rika has dyed blonde hair with a single streak of bubblegum pink, with her roots being her natural hair color, brown. Her eyes are a beautiful blue. Her clothing consists of a bright red jacket patterned with plum purple patches and adorned by matching sleeves. She wears pale blue jeans and a black shirt under her jacket which complement her sneakers, choker and belt.
Personality
Rika was introduced as being aggressive and hasty, not hesitating for a minute to say whatever is on her mind even to those she just meets. She spent much of her time as a loner due to her hostility pushing others away. However, after bonding with Ai and the others girls, Rika's more energetic and humorous side surfaced, along with her becoming a more compassionate and selfless person, particularly towards her newfound friends.
Rika's original callous and arrogant nature was largely a result of the immense guilt she felt for blaming herself for the death of her original fan, Chiemi, the latter having died from an eating disorder after Rika had yelled at and expressed disgust towards her upon discovering she had been shoplifting in order to buy gifts for her, as well as refusing to accept any more gifts from her and insulting her weight. Another contributor to this is her father leaving her when she was young, resulting in her being left in the care of her mother, who she disliked immensely.
