Momoe Sawaki is a deuteragonists of the anime-only series, Wonder Egg Priority, alongside Neiru Aonuma and Rika Kawai. She is a young girl who greatly resembles a boy who collects and protects Wonder Eggs in order to reunite with her closest friend Haruka following the latter's suicide.
She was voiced by Hinaki Yano in Japanese and Michelle Rojas in English.
Appearance
Momoe is a tall, thin young woman with short auburn hair that is swept to the left side of her head and dark green eyes. Her outfit consists of a navy blue sweater worn over a white dress shirt which is accompanied by loose beige slacks, navy blue socks matching her sweater, and burgundy shoes. Her overall very masculine appearance has had many people mistakenly confusing her for a male.
Personality
Momoe is a kind and polite girl, often putting the needs and well-being of others before those of herself. She has a strong sense of right and wrong and never hesitates for a second to defend those who have been wrongly accused of something. This is best shown when she defends her uncle when Rika Kawai suggested that he was responsible for the impregnation of a student.
In spite of her popularity, Momoe is deeply insecure about her masculine appearance, becoming incredibly upset when Wonder Killer refers to her as a man since she's been mistaken for a male repeatedly since her early childhood. In regards to his, most of the girls she met and spoke to reassured her that they actually fell in love with her due to her masculine charm. However, Momoe dislikes this immensely and doesn't want to be seen as a male, believing that it would be "deceiving" to the girls who tried to comfort her about her insecurities in the first place.
Trivia
- Her sexuality is rather ambiguous due to her being implied to have an interest in boys, but she also seemed content with the idea of interest from another girl.
