The Rescue Dragons are the titular main protagonist faction of the TV Show, Dragons: Rescue Riders.
History
While the first members are essentially dragons, they have since started adding humans as well, after they saved them from a shipwreck. Their location is in Huttsgalor where the chief is Duggard and he invites them to stay in his village. After a few hijackings with a runaway car, a lost sheep, and helping to repair the village after a bad storm, Duggard gives the group an unused lighthouse as a home. The team was thus named Rescue Dragons.
By the time work on the new home begins in Huttsgalor, the group has adapted and got used to living there. They then met a young dragon, a Fire Fury named Aggro. The young fire dragon had a difficult time fitting in at first, but after a frosty rescue, Aggro was fully accepted into the team, training many other dragons along the way, including a hideous Heatwing and Slobber Smelters. But they couldn't take care of all of them, especially when Dak, Winger and Burple found Piercing Shriekscales and their constant screeching.
Just as they calmed the Shriekscales by feeding them, the problem got worse when the group angered an elderly Foreverhorn named Grumblegard. To protect Huttsgalor, the Rescue Riders enlist the help of the Slinkwings, but after the elder dragon was stopped, the Slinkwings tricked them and took over Grumblegard Island. But after an explanation and an apology, they work together to take back Hazard Island. Since the elder dragon has so much knowledge and more room, they allowed Grumblegard to adopt the young dragons.
Trivia
- Unlike Dak and Leyla (who are also the main protagonists of the animated series), the five draconic members of the Rescue Riders who serves as deuteragonists of the animated series are associated with the five colors.
